I always thought weddings are overrated. Families of the bride and the groom excessively flaunting their so-called prestige and wealth by outnumbering their guest lists and reserving the best wedding venue and food caterer in town.

If you told me back then that I will be planning my own wedding with the most perfect and handsome man that I've ever met, I'd call you a liar and a delusional. But here I am sitting at the far end corner table in the café I usually frequent, twirling my engagement ring that adorned my left ring finger.

"I still can't believe you're getting married next week," Mark sighed as he sipped his iced Americano. "Isn't it too soon?"

"Jaehyun and I decided that we've waited long enough. And it's too late to back out either, his parents are arriving this week for the rehearsal dinner."

Mark nodded as his eyes found the ring on my finger. "Are you sure about this? Aren't you feeling a bit rushed?"  he pressed again.

I looked at him and leaned back on my chair, feeling the weight of the ring on my finger. Rushed? If it was me, we'd elope tomorrow without letting anyone know. I've been dreaming about this since we moved in together. Just thinking that Jaehyun will make me his, not only on bed but in name and paper makes me giddy.

"I always thought we'd belong together ever since we saw each other," I shrugged. "Anyway, I'm only here to drop your invitation. Jaehyun's waiting outside, I can't make him wait for too long. Remember, it's on the 26th at 5PM." I smiled, sliding the white wedding invitation towards him before standing up. I patted his shoulder and pinch his cheek as I usually do and said goodbye.

I walked towards the parked car and bend down to check on Jaehyun behind the passenger window. He was slumped back at the driver's seat clearly taking a nap. He's been working up late these past few days to sort and secure deals for his company before we take a 3-month vacation after the wedding. I felt bad that I couldn't help him with his business but he assured me that my duty as his bride is to focus on the wedding.

Slowly, I opened the passenger door and called out his name softly. "Jaehyun," I repeated as I settled inside the car. "We can go home if you're tired. I can go to the flower shop after dropping you off." I sweetly caressed his cheek until he woke up from his nap.

Jaehyun slowly opened his eyes and gave out a yawn. "How was Mark?"

"Mark is still Mark. Why are you asking about him without greeting me first?" I pouted and retrieved the hand caressing his face.

"You took your time in there. I can't believe my bride will leave me for too long," he smiled as he started the engine.

"I was only out for 5 minutes," I muttered and focused my attention at the scenery outside. It's almost summer and the heat was slowly building up day by day. I am hoping that no summer rain will dampened the mood on the day of our wedding. I prayed that everything will go my way even after we exchange our vows. I tend to have too much expectation and ended up with regret in these kind of important events in my life.
