Kicked out from the previous university I've attended, I found myself unpacking my things back in my old bedroom at our manor. I looked around after I sat down on my new bed and took in the new furnishings. It was the same cold and uninviting room renovated and designed by some famous interior designers that money could hire.
I didn't care much about the room but what angered me was the point being that I needed to return on this dreadful place. The place I tried to get out of since I was fifteen years old, and now I am back again. Expected to follow the rules and not to tarnish the family's name. Damn! I threw the picture frame I found lying inside my suitcase. It landed on the wall, the glass shattering to pieces before it dropped on the cream-colored carpet with a dull thud.
"Sir?" Sang-hoon, our butler called out behind the closed door.
"What?!"
"You are expected to introduce yourself to the Dean of your new university."
"What if I don't want to?" I yelled out.
With a knock, he entered the room with a solemn look on his face. His eyes roamed inside my messy room probably taking in every detail he found amiss but decided not to call me out. Instead, he remained silent and gave me an apathetic look as if he was waiting for me to get out of bed and follow the command.
Feeling rebellious, I dug my fingernails into my palm and stayed still while giving him a glare. This is what I hate about this place! Them and the fucking rules!
"May I remind you, that he said if you will not leave then you are obligated to spend time with him at the library," Sang-hoon spoke out in a tone-less voice.
When he mentioned 'him', my hand immediately shook in agitation. The idea of rebelling doesn't seem a good idea anymore especially when I have to spend more time here. So, I inhaled sharply and slowly stood up from the bed. "Fine, I'll go," I replied.
The university Sang-hoon was referring to was far better than I expected it to be. Located outside of the bustling city, it offered fresh air, lush green trees, and transitionally designed buildings. It has a gymnasium, its own Olympic-sized swimming pool, a grand library hall, an extravagant cafeteria, and many more facilities to cater to the elites. Samyang University was no joke.
I looked around the campus and let the female university staff tour me around. With this kind of environment, I think I might just like it here. All I need to do now is not get into trouble and just finish one more year of college then I can be free.
"I think you will enjoy your time here sir Lee," she said after clearing his throat.
"Lee is a bit formal. You can just call me Taeyong and yes, I have no doubt that I will enjoy myself especially when there's a beauty like you here." I responded with such a smile that made her blush.
