It's been a day since Isaac locked me in this room, all I did was cry while lying down on the cold floor. I needed to do something, I got up and saw furniture scattered around the darkroom. I couldn't even see properly if there wasn't the window from which moonlight was coming. The door opened which interrupted me, I hesitantly looked up and saw Aiden standing there with an apologetic face holding a tray of food. I looked at him and turned around.
Aiden carefully placed the tray in front of me, "you need to eat."
I didn't respond and just stared at him.
Aiden whispered, "I don't know if I should tell you this or not but there is one thing I wanted to tell you."
He continued, "in the note, there was something written about our parents. You should know why this is too crucial for us."
I looked at him and nodded giving him a signal to continue.
"Our pack, our parents were too kind. They used to take refugees and also gave rogue wolves a chance to live in our pack. This one time, there was a young boy who came looking for refuge but our beta denied him because he was the son of a dead king of rogue wolves.
Isaac gave him refuge, even when everyone asked him not to, but he thought about giving him a chance just like our parents did. Our parents also accepted him, he became Isaac's friend but what Isaac didn't know was about him plotting against our pack.
His father, the rogue king was still alive and he sent his son to spy on our pack, and they attacked us when we least expected. In that attack, our parents got killed, Isaac saw the murder of our parents with his own eyes. The boy he had saved stabbed him, he nearly died and also lost his parents on the same day because he trusted a spy. That's the reason, he reacted this way after reading that note."
My tears started falling and I tried forming words, "I am so sorry." I knew what it felt like when someone betrayed your trust, I could feel the pain Isaac felt and it made my heart shatter more.
Aiden looked at me, "are you a spy?"
"I am not a spy, Aiden," I shook my head while wiping my tears, "I trusted Isaac, and that's why I came here. The second note is a lie, I didn't know those two attacks were connected to my past."
"I hope you're not lying, Isabelle," he looked at me with a serious expression, "because if you are then I am sorry but I will kill you with my own hands."
I sighed, "I can't do anything to make you all trust me, Isaac already hates me. I need to go from here," I looked at him pleadingly, "please, help me."
Aiden looked at me apologetically, "I can't let you run, but I will explain everything to Isaac. I know he will believe me."
I started crying hysterically when Aiden left the room. I never thought I would even cry about something like this in my life. I knew running from here meant going back into the trap of Carl while staying here meant I had to stay with Isaac's hatred.
Suddenly, there was a popping noise and a guy was standing in front of me looking for something. He had wide and broad shoulders, he had sluggish brown hair with sharp blue eyes which were shining in the moonlight.
He was handsome but not as handsome as Isaac remembering Isaac made my heart sore. I was so lost in my thoughts that I did not notice him coming in front of me with folded arms.
"Hello, miss," he looked at me and frowned, "you look exhausted."
I furrowed my eyebrows, "how did you come in here?"
He smirked, "magic."
I deadpanned, "okay, Dr strange."
He illuminated a candle that was placed on a table, "I see, you still have your sense of humor."
