Chapter 33

Mikasa was looking at Annie with a shocked face.

She just couldn't believe,what she was just told.

"Wh-what are you saying Annie?Y-you're joking right?" Mikasa asked almost in a pleading voice that wanted to hear 'yes' as an answer.

But well have you ever heard 'yes',when you want someone to say it.Well I totally haven't, so let's just continue with the story.

"No,I am not joking Mikasa" Annie said with a serious voice.But that serious voice,was just a weak wall she put up to prevent her emotions to come on her face.

"It couldn't be..." Mikasa said as a tear fell rolled down her cheek.

She stared at her bed sheet without saying  anything.

Annie was also sitting their with a sad look on her face and  without saying anything.But then suddenly Mikasa spoke

"Why?"

A few minutes earlier

"....and that's all about it"Mikasa said as she finished telling Annie about ehta happened with her today.

But throughout the conversation, Annie was oddly  silent. Normally she would have definitely poked her big nose in the middle of the conversation.

But unlike usual she was just silent and listening to Mikasa.

"Annie?" Mikasa said.

Annie looked in her eyes without saying anything.

"You okay?" Mikasa asked in a worried tone.

"Oh-oh yeah,I'm fine" She said and took a a short pause

"Hey,Mikasa I wanted to tell you something" Annie said

"Yeah...?" Mikasa said.

"It's probably not the best time to tell you this but...I just can't bear it anymore" Annie said and took a short stop.

"What...I told you back then...was a lie" Annie said with guilt in her voice.

Mikasa was a little perplexed,she couldn't remember what was Annie talking about.

"Back then?What are you saying Annie?I don't understand" Mikasa conveyed her thoughts.

Annie looked at her with an expression that said "I don't want to say it"

"Back then,when I told you about Frieda and Eren"Annie said

Mikasa's ears stopped listening for a while. She looked at Annie with an expression of dibelief.

She remembered,it was when she and Annie had met for the first time.

She had said something about Frieda and Eren liking each other,or something like that.

So Annie was the reason for all that happened between her and Eren.But...she was her best friend. Why would she do that?

A tear rolled down Mikasa's face.

This was too much for her,first Uri and now Annie.

" B-but...why?"Mikasa asked.

Just after that Annie broke into tears too.

"I'm sorry Mikasa..I'm sorry" Annie said in between of her sobs.

Mikasa gripped Annie's shoulders and shook her.(LOL)

"I'm asking WHY?what had I done to you?"She asked her voice indicated that she was on the verge of breaking down.

Today was just too much for her.First Uri and now Annie.
