Chapter 15:

-ORIS POV-

After Marie stopped pointing out everything that has grown an enormous amount, we stood there in awkward silence, except for the occasional glance between me and Nath and the sound of Marie talking about everything we've missed.

"Oh I almost forgot!" She slapped her forehead with her palm and eyed Ryan.

"Who is this young man?"

She shook hands with him as Nathan glared and said, "Aren't we all thinking that?"

I ignored him and introduced Ryan to everyone. "This is my roommate Ryan, we go to school together."

"Oh lovely, you go to school now?"

I nodded my head yes, without giving an explanation, seeing that I didn't think it would be the appropriate time to explain how Nathan left me, and caught Ysa staring at Ryan oddly, but Ryan didn't seem to care, instead he smirked at her and looked away.

Marie caught sight of our luggage and ushered Ryan and Ysa upstairs to unpack, leaving me and Nath.

Luke went into his room, and Marie went outside on the porch to do something.

Nathan started daggers at me and I stared knives back.

"Hows that little friend of yours?" He asked, a little too loud.

"Oh he's doing great, yanno. Why, are you mad?"

He avoided answering my question, but instead asked another one, "Why is he living with you?"

"Because he needed a place to stay, and I needed help paying the rent."

He clenched his jaw and continued throwing questions at me,"So did you guys hook up or what?"

"Why? Does it matter? He's been there for me more than you could ever be." I spat .

I turned to walk upstairs but Nathan grabbed my wrist forcefully before I could.

"Take that back."

"Why?"

"'Cause its a lie."

I turned back to look at him and cocked my eyebrow, "What makes you so sure, Nath?"

-NATHANS POV-

She yanked her hand away from my grip and her sleeve rose. She starts speed-walking to the stairs and I sprint to catch up with her.

I grabbed her hand again and she turned around with her eyes filled with tears. Her sleeves pushed higher up and my suspions were right.

I held her upper arm and pulled her sleeve up, "What are these?"

She stared at me with her mouth agape and her eyebrows furrowed. Pulling her arm away from me, she pulled her sleeve down and shook her head.

"Don't act like you care, Nathan. My love for you was bulletproof, but youre the one who shot me."

-flashback-

"All these broken pieces somehow fit together but not like I hope they would. Scars glued them all and this is what's left of me."

-flashback over-

"I'm done fighting over this, I'm done fighting over you. Game over Nath, I lose. "

She walked up the stairs leaving me to stand frozen at the bottom of the stairs.

What the fuck have I done.

-YSAS POV-

Marie ushered us upstairs with our suitcases, with Ryan trailing behind me.

I walked towards the first empty room I saw but Ryan blocked my entrance.

"Excuse me?" I looked up at him.

With a smug look on his face he said, "You can't take this room."

I scoffed and withheld the urge to roll my eyes.

"Why not?"

"Because it's mine."

"Who said?"

He smirked down at me, "I did...uh 10 seconds ago?"

I groaned and walked over to the next one.

"Nope, not that one either. Orrrr that one, or that one."

"Then which one do I get?" I snapped at him.

"None. Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless you kiss me."

I turned my head and breathed deeply.

"I'm going to a hotel."

His shoulders dropped in defeat and I smiled contently.

I walked over to the room that I originally wanted to have, and lightly pecked him on the lips. I stood on my toes and leaned in so I could whisper in his ear, "I win."

I grinned at him and he smiled as he went over what I just did, and watched me close the door.
