"of course," sequoia's voice was stiff, "come in."

four pairs of footsteps shuffled inside, stopping themselves just before the lounge room. there was a brief moment of silence before victoria rushed to the witch's side.

"hello miss sequoia," spoke the blonde vampire, "my name is jane." she paused, staring into sequoia's eyes, her face was expressionless, as always, but the witch could see some timidness behind her mask. "this is alec," she nodded to the youngest boy beside her. sequoia's blue eyes met his own burgundy ones, noticing the striking similarity between jane and himself. "this is felix," the shortest vampire continued, indicating to the tallest, and largest of the quartet. "and this is demetri," she said, "but i'm sure you have already heard of him, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"likewise."

-

"what do you think the volturi is going to do?"

"hopefully rip victoria's head off so we can finally get rid of her," bella snarled holding her newborn close to her chest.

"that'll kill sequoia too," rosalie matched her tone but with a decreased dynamic, not to startle the baby.

"really? even better!" the new mother cheered.

"i hope renesmee doesn't end up like you."

"we'll teach her to burn witches at the stake, isn't that right edward?" bella nudged her husband, who wasn't paying attention to the situation in the slightest.

"mhm."

"are we back in medieval times or something? she's never even hurt you!" said the vampire with the only bit of sanity left. she was fuming, if she wasn't dead, all the blood would have rushed to her face.

"what happens with the volturi happens, we need to focus on training you, and helping raise my daughter," edward mumbled, tired of the younger swan's constant complaints on her sister. "she's not here anymore, you don't need to bring her up in every conversation."

"have you decided to take her side?!"

"no, you just need to let her go."

"she's a disgusting witch."

"and you're a newborn," rose piped in, "so shut the fuck up."

"rosalie," carlisle placed a hand on her shoulder, "what happened to warming up with bella?"

"i hate you all, you don't understand shit."

-

jane gave a small, one-sided smile to the witch. maybe she was pleased that sequoia wasn't the stereotypical 'evil' witch that was all too common in her earlier years. "it seems as if your relationship with the cullen family isn't the best, i'm surprised they gave such information away."

the other blonde girl sighed, looking down at her shoes. she knew what they did, she saw the vision, but the slight pain in her heart every time they are brought up hurts. she thought running away would be for the better, her subconscious constantly screaming at her to do so. she was still yet to actually receive the known 'mate bond' with victoria, so in reality, sequoia had technically run off with a stranger, hoping they'd give her a better life.

"yes, ever since bella arrived for a longer stay than normal, the cullens had slowly drained our friendships."

"but they still dragged you along everywhere?"

"of course they did, they wanted me to protect bella with my magic. to which i did, but they still weren't happy with the outcome."

jane's gaze met to the taller woman beside the witch, narrowing her eyes, "so you're the famous victoria?"

"yes."

"and you started the newborn army?"

"yes." the redhead tensed behind sequoia, her instincts telling her to run, the girl beside her noticed immediately, grabbing her hand in a sense of comfort.

the witch stepped further in front of her, ready to start a shield if needed, "you're not going to kill her."

the largest moved forward, "it's only requested from the kings, don't take it too personally."

sequoia death-stared felix, sensing her eyes slowly turning to their natural colour. she began to advance on the vampire, only to be held back by victoria.

"sister," alex started, looking at jane panicked, "i think we may need to take this back to the castle."

so that's why they look so alike.

"very well," jane responded, trying to keep a calm nature, "miss sequoia, miss victoria, i would like to ask you both to accompany us back to volterra."

the witch stared at each volturi guard, trying to get any possible information out of them. it failed, she figured the kings kept most things to themselves, but she couldn't help but wonder what they have in store for her.

they'll just use me like alice.

if i don't go, they'll kill victoria.

if i do go, they'll kill victoria.

sequoia looked at the woman of her thoughts, searching for any signs of negation or protest in her body language, but instead, she kept her signature confidant stance.

"we'll be more than happy to."

"are you out of your mind?" the witch screamed inside the vampire's head, "you'll get yourself killed!"

"perfect, we can head there now," jane smiled, turning around before running to the car they arrived in. the three male figures soon followed, bolting out of the house without saying a word.

"come on, dear," victoria wrapped an arm around sequoia's waist, leading them outside their temporary home.

"you have too much trust in them, or myself."

"things will end worse if we don't go with them."

"you'll be the death of me one day." the blonde sighed, finally giving in to the idea - partially.

-

the five vampires and the witch arrived at the airport fairly quickly due to felix's ravage-like driving. each volturi had their cloaks on, flowing out from behind them with each step they took.

as they stepped onto their private jet, sequoia couldn't help but stare in awe. she had never seen a plane with such a spacious atmosphere. the seats looked extremely comfortable, defiantly more comfortable than the couch she had to sleep on when bella was over. and the legroom, the godly legroom that could be seen all the way from the land below.

the witch sat next to victoria, for both her own comfort and for her protection to the vampire. jane sat down with her brother, just across from the two women, with both blondes in the aisle seats.

"i can feel you staring from over here," the blonde vampire said, immediately regretting it straight after.

"you're two metres away from me," sequoia remarked back, making jane let out a sigh of relief, thankful she didn't do, or say anything worse.

the two girls met eye contact, the vampire noticing the witch's humorous smirk on her face.

the vampires on the window seat of each duo could only be surprised at the interaction. jane and sequoia's bickering soon turned into playful banter, their smirks becoming genuine smiles.

"so you're like over a thousand years old? what are you supposed to do for entertainment?"

the swan could hear the snicking coming from demetri and felix, which turned into cackling after a few moments.

"burning witches to death," jane crossed her arms while she rolled her eyes.

"yeah, or masturbating," the two men couldn't hold it in any longer, only been listening to other's conversations for the entire flight.

"well, i now know who the immature ones are."
