Polaroids and dirty clothes

"Goodnight, Danny." I smiled down at the boy who seemed astonished with the guest room I gave him. "Goodnight Y/n, and thank you." He spoke as he lazily tossed his discarded gloves and whatnot from earlier onto the bed. In his voice, I could hear the smile under that mask and honestly it made me happy too. I turned away and slowly shut his door, it was 2:45am and we were both enervated. I stood there for a second. What the hell had I gotten into?

Morning

My alarm clock blared, it was 9am. I groaned and stopped the machine from doing more damage to my poor ears. Luckily, today was Friday and I only work on weekdays so I looked forward to the weekend.

"Hey, sweetie." Danny's voice came from the doorway, startling me. "Oh, heh sorry did my alarm wake you up?" I nervously giggled. "Not at all, I get up early, I have places to be." Danny stretched. "You said something about getting your belongings? Do you have time? I start work at 6 and come home at 11." Sitting up and rubbing my eyes, I asked him. "Yeah. You don't have to tag along, honey. I hate to be a burden." He scratched the back of his head, awkwardly. "Wait. So how are you going to go there? In that?" I gestured to his outfit. "Shit." He realised. "I'll find you a face mask and a jumper or something, those jeans will do."

I dug through my wardrobe, eventually finding the giant (on me) sweater. It was a knitted periwinkle one I had bought a while back and only had wore once or twice. It wasn't ugly or anything I just never saw it as appropriate for things since I obviously had cardigans. I also handed him a bandana and sunglasses. I quickly ushered him out so we could both change.

I changed into a pair of warm tights, a blue and black plaid skirt and a black long sleeve rib knit top. (Feel free to change this if you aren't comfortable). I liked the way I looked, all I had to do now was brush my teeth and make my hair somewhat presentable. Thank the lord I had to shower last night because my hair was getting a little greasy before. In the bathroom, I brushed and sorted my hair out carefully, parting my hair to cover the minor injury I had. I was satisfied and after that I brushed my teeth to rid the horrid morning breath I was suffering of.

"Hey." Danny had entered the room without me even noticing as I rinsed off my toothbrush and put it back in the holder. "Oh hi." I looked behind me in the mirror to see him. The bandana covered the lower half of his face and the sunglasses completely hid his eyes. I was sort of upset because I didn't know what he actually looked like. Well it sucks to suck I guess. "Should we leave?" I swiped on a thin layer of lip gloss with my finger before rubbing it into the palm of my other hand just because no one likes having oily fingers. "Sure, let's hope I don't look like I've just robbed a bank." Danny playfully spoke. "You do but it's alright." I patted his shoulder.

Time skip

We had arrived at a tall apartment block, we walked downtown to it since Danny claimed it was too close for me to drive to and a walk would be nice. He was wrong, but not completely. Clearly he's quite athletic since he wasn't exhausted like I was. "Seriously?" He looked to me, amused. "Yes. I don't really leave the house unless I'm driving anymore, it's been like this ever since school ended." I caught my breath. Once I did, I got a good look at the building we were about to enter. It was a red brick flat complex, tall but not too intimidating. It looked not too bad so I don't see what had him so shy.

"Come along, if you want." I could hear the nervousness in his voice. "Danny. It's ok, take me to your room." I placed my hand on his and he seemed to let go. "Alright."

"It's not the best, I'm sorry." He scurried over to his desk and grabbed a camera, a folder and a laptop. "Don't be ashamed, I don't care, just happy to offer... well not offer you a better place but to give it to you." I reassured him. The room's walls were wallpaper, peeling off. He had a mattress, a blanket and his floor was covered in clothes and pictures. When I got a closer look at the photos I realised they were the images of the Ghostface murders. Just then I remembered whose domain I was in. I stood in a serial killer's home, picking up the things he wished to bring into my home. Danny saw that my eyes were glued to the polaroids, in shock. "I'm so sorry sweetheart, you shouldn't have to see this." He crouched down and hurriedly pushed them into his folder before coming back to standing up. With a slightly spare hand, he pushed his sunglasses up to supposedly cover his eyes more. I didn't get a glance on what had apparently been shown, which I scolded myself for.

We left, him carrying various expensive items of his own and me carrying some clothes he wanted. Danny was glad to 'move out' as he put it, apparently no one would notice or come looking which made me feel slightly glum for him because I was the same. All apart from my sister.

Back home

"And that's it, thank you!" Danny pulled me into a hug. Out of surprise I yelped. "I'm sorry, didn't mean to scare you sweetie." He released me, us still close. "It's ok." I looked around at the guest room's new look. The closet was open for once, it was always empty and now it was filled with trench coats and turtlenecks? Strange... but trendy.

The time was almost 12pm so I was down in the kitchen making myself a sandwich. I turned to the fridge to place the ingredients back in it to see a blur of colour.

"Jesus fucking christ!" I jumped, my heart rate spiked. "Woah! Hey! Chill out!" He smirked as he grabbed the things I was holding and put them back for me to stop me from dropping them. "Why did you just pop out of nowhere you asshole!" I hissed at the murderer, later turning into a small squirrel as I remembered his advantage over me. His reaction was weird though. Danny cowered away as I raised my voice and swiftly left for his room with a quick 'sorry'. I expected him to get mad and stab me or something but instead he went to his room like a scolded child. He's full of surprises and I don't like it.
