It was an early morning, the sky was covered with dark clouds, with bright lightning bolts flashing every second. And the sky rumbled of thunder, as strong current of breeze danced over the roofs threatening to remove them.
You aren't scared, are you? Because Aliyah wasn't.
There in front of their house, she stood with arms wide open as if they were her wings. She felt the strong breeze dancing on her skin like the hands of a wild lover, she could feel the scent of rain difussing into her olfactory lobes.
"Rain on me" She said as if daring the skies.
A very bright lightning bolt flashed across the sky, for a second, one would think the sun had risen from the clouds.
"Shhaaaaaa" Trillions, or maybe a countless gazillion droplets of rain embarked on a race down from the clouds, who will be the first to hit the ground?
"Whoa!" She shivered on the feel of the cold rain. In a moment, she was completely drenched, but she didn't care at all.
She danced and jumped around, free spirited in the rain. She always loved doing that.
"Hey! Come back in." Her mother, who watched her all this while finally shouted.
"Just a few more minutes Mommã"
"Okay, two minutes" She said with a smile plastered on her face.
Four minutes later, Aliyah was still in the rain. So, her mum had to drag her out of it.
"Silly do you want to catch cold?" Her mother said while drying her hair with a towel.
"I won't Mommã."
The rain lasted for about two hours and then, it all stopped.
"This rain sure has a perfect timing, there is still two hours left to your flight father."
That was Lailah speaking to her father who was set to go back to Westlake city with the rest of the family.
"Let's move out then, I hate to be late" He said.
"I know father"
After saying goodbye to the neighbors, they were set for the airport. As one car was not enough to convey them all, one of the neighbors offered them an extra ride.
They arrived in time, cleared and collected their boarding passes.
"Grandpa, you've been looking around for sometime. Are you expecting someone?"
"Yes, but I am not sure if he will be able to make it."
"Who is it?"
"An old friend" He replied.
"Let's hope he makes it on time" Aliyah said.
Few moments later, the old friend arrived. Except he wasn't an old friend as he described.
"Oh, now I see the old friend you were expecting."
"Do you know him?" He asked playfully.
"No." She answered in the same manner.
"Good morning" Hafiz greeted the group at once.
"Good morning" They answered in unison.
"I thought you wouldn't come"
"I dare not" Hafiz replied.
"Come, sit beside me." The old man said tapping the seat beside him.
On his way to the sit, his eyes met with Aliyah's. For a moment he kept staring at her unaware of the fact that almost everyone around noticed it, or maybe he just didn't care even if they did.
