"Sideswipe."

I sighed. "Yes?" I sounded rather annoyed. People only approached me when they needed something from Skylar. "Can you ask Skylar to see me at 2 PM?" Lennox asked. "Why don't you ask her yourself?" I sulked. "I can't find her and it's important." I rolled my eyes. "I am not a communication device. Go talk to her yourself if you want to see her this afternoon," I snapped. It's not fair. I am fun but people just don't want to talk to me and that hurt.

"What's wrong, Sideswipe."
Skylar approached and halted a yard away from me. "People only talk to me when they want to talk to you. They think I am a replica of my brother. Despite my best effort, they ignore me or they shut me out. When I sit with them, they got up and walk off. That hurt. I don't have long to live and I want to enjoy life a little but no one wants to hang out with me and my fellow team mates are busy."

Skylar embraced me. "We can hang out if you'd like."
"I don't want you to feel compassion." She shrugged. "I know Washington DC very well. All the good places, mostly because your brother showed me lunchrooms and amazing restaurants." She grasped my hand and took me with her. Perhaps this will get her in a better spirit as well.

We had lunch together and talked endlessly about everything that crossed our minds. She even took me to some game shops. Right now, we were eating ice cream in the park. Sideswipe has four flavors and whipped cream. His entire face was sticky and dirty. I grabbed my napkin and gently started to clean up his face. "You know... Optimus told me that after Sunny's death, the Decepticons started to mobilize. It seems they are looking for something, we think they are after you... now Sunstreaker isn't there to protect you anymore, they might want you back. There's absolutely no one who would even consider trying to kidnap you if you're Sunny's favorite. Not even a Decepticon."

There fell a silence. Sideswipe was probably right, no one would ever lay a finger on me as long as Sunstreaker would be alive but now he's dead, Decepticons see their change to get me. "What's going to happen now?" Sideswipe didn't know an answer and simply shrugged. "I don't know..." he mumbled and looked at some trees ahead of us. He seemed a little lost. I think he wants to help me out but can't or is scared to fail. After all, he doesn't have long to live. I grasped his hand and smiled.

"Shall we go back to base?"

I nodded and we got up. Back at the base, Sideswipe was going to take a nap and I walked back to my room. "Skylar." I slowed down. Lennox blocked my way. "Let's have a chat." I grunted but didn't want to argue so I followed him to his office. "Have a seat." I watched Lennox. "We haven't talked since you arrived," he said. I leaned back and shrugged. "What's there to talk about?" I asked. "You left without saying anything." I shrugged and fiddled with my fingers. "Look, you can't just leave, Skylar. You are a hybrid. Now Sunstreaker is dead, you are a target for the Decepticons." He stated. I sucked in a breath. "You don't have to remind me he's dead. It's not like you cared if he would die or not. You hated him," I snapped.

"The only reason I am here is because Sideswipe and Optimus wanted it. " Lennox sucked in a breath and tangled his fingers. "You can't leave now the Decepticons are mobilizing and in the meantime, you can keep Sideswipe company," he said. I was absolutely speechless. He's giving me orders while one, I don't even work for him and two, he forbid me to hang out with Sunny but now he wants me to stick around Sideswipe."

"Wow... you know what, I am not even going to argue about it. I don't work here anymore and it's my life. I free to go wherever I want and it's not my fault the Decepticons are mobilizing. I never pulled the trigger and if Sunny would be alive, the Decepticons wouldn't even be mobilizing. This is karma for killing the best front liner Optimus has ever had," I spat while jumping back on my feet.

"You think I am the boogie man but I never suggested it. I hated Sunstreaker for what he did to my daughter but I never suggested to execute him. It was Ratchet who suggested it and they voted. I stayed out of it, it wasn't my call to make, despite being happy about the decision."

"Oh really? Well I bet Sunstreaker saved your ass more then once in battle. Without you, you wouldn't be here. He told me stories about mistakes in strategy and he fixed them. He did the most dangerous missions to make sure you wouldn't die. Psychopath's maybe don't experience fear but Sunstreaker did put his life on the line to save yours and everyone else. No matter what you asked him to do, he would do it. Perhaps if you put more effort in getting to know him and all the horrible things people put him through, you would understand and see the pain he carried every single day. He didn't just became a psychopath because he wanted it... people made him like that. All his life he was rejected and hated, since the moment he was born. Sunny didn't know anything else but people bullying him. Psychopath or not, they do experience loneliness and crave for some affection."

I turned around and slammed the door shut behind me. I halted half way through and looked at Sideswipe's alt-mode. He was parked, all alone and some soldiers were saying some things to him. I bet Sideswipe is trying to ignore them in his best effort. They didn't accept him.

I grunted and walked down. "Leave him alone!" I snapped and pushed a soldier out of the way. "Well, well, well... Skylar, not so tough now huh without Sunstreaker." I pushed the guy out of the way again and pointed Sunny's knife at him. "Sunny might not be here to hold this...but believe me... I have seen him kill enough people to know where to stab you to get an amazing result," I snarled. Sideswipe's holoform appeared. "Come on, Sky. It's not worth it." He pulled me back. They left, laughing.

I hugged Sideswipe, one to comfort myself and two to comfort him as well. Sides wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head. "It will be okay," he mumbled. I sighed and shrugged, wiping a lost tear of my face. "I promise," Sideswipe mumbled and smiled weakly. I wish I could believe him, but I didn't. Soon or later, Sideswipe would be dead too.
