AS MUCH AS DANIEL WANTED the brunette back in his life, he knew that there was too much damage for him to recover even the slightest bit of happiness into their former lives, when everything was so easy.
his music was thought of on the spot, it being written into a song for the band and him coming up with majority of the love songs the band produced. those love songs were written about her, even if she doesn't know that, she should. every love song, every last word he put into them, it was him confessing how he loved her, despite what he might be saying otherwise.
sitting alone in his room, he knew what was to happen if he tried to reach out once more, it was the worst time to do so.
"hey, guess who finally reached out to me?" jonah popped his head into the room, a small smile on his face, waving his phone towards the younger boy.
"kailee texted you? that's great, man." daniel encouraged, happy that she possibly might be listening to him, to talk to her best friend again.
"yeah. she wants to meet up when she gets here tomorrow."
"i'm happy for you. just keep her happy, okay? i know i fucked that up before but i want to be better, be better for her."
"don't worry, i care a lot about her still. she's still one of my best friends. who knows? maybe i can work some magic and she might forgive you?"
"i don't think that'll ever happen, but i appreciate the thought, jo."
