DANIEL WANTED THE BEST for her, and her well-being. she had gotten all of her belongings out of the home while he was gone, jonah keeping the promise ring that he promised would be given back to daniel.
he knew she would want it back at some point in time, knowing that he was going to be the one to comfort her, bring her back to her happier self and then remind her of how much she is loved by daniel.
"hey man," daniel greeted the oldest, a half-hearted smile on his face as he entered the bedroom, spotting kailee's hoodie folded neatly on his desk chair, signalling that she was over yet somewhere else for the time being.
"hey, kails is gonna be back in a few minutes, she had to grab a couple of things at her mom's that she forgot." jonah reminded the boy, who's heart ached at the idea of her spending time with anyone but him.
"yeah, thanks. can i get the promise ring from you? i mentioned that she still had it but she said that she gave it to you-"
"here," jonah passed the ring that was sitting on his nightstand, giving an apologetic look to the boy, knowing that there was so much pain settling inside daniel.
"thanks. is she staying over tonight?"
"yeah, i'm taking her to school tomorrow since it's her first day on campus and i don't want her to be nervous."
school. something she's dreamt of doing since she finished high school.
"wish her luck for me, okay?"
he toured that campus with her, he promised to drive her on her first day.
"i will, man. have a goodnight."
he no longer could be the same person to her. the same person she wanted him to be all along.
