THE IDEA OF THEM not being together was dreadful, even if it was for a short period of time.
kailee's dads requested her to come home, and so she booked a flight and let daniel drive her to the airport a few hours later, her eyes slowly glossing over as the thought of leaving daniel behind in los angeles was too much to bear.
"baby, i love you." daniel mumbled into her hair as he hugged her where he couldn't go any further, both saddened at her sudden departure.
they didn't know why she had to go home, nor the time frame as to how long she'd be away from him.
daniel didn't necessarily like showing his love in public, it was always going to be photographed by someone. even if it's in the background of someone else's picture.
"daniel! can we get a picture with you?" a fan asked, running up with who he suspected was the girl's sister or friend.
"sure."
quickly taking the picture, he felt as though kailee was slipping away while this happened- and she did.
"kailee!" he yelled after her, stopping her before she reached past the line he could cross. "i love you, please come back."
"i'll never leave you, dan. i love you too much to do that to you."
wrapping his arms around her once more, he leaned their foreheads together, wanting her to know that even if he wasn't kissing her he loved her.
"i hate pda but last time i left you at an airport, i can't let you leave without knowing that you want to come back. and now i have that, so have a safe flight and let me know what's going on. if you need me to come see you i will, okay? i'm here for you, always."
he pressed a long kiss to her forehead before finally meeting her own, both humming in acceptance that maybe this was the break they needed.
"i love you, daniel."
"i love you too, kailee."
