"HOW ARE YOU FEELING?" daniel asked curiously, a small frown on his face as he stared at the phone screen, hearing her rustling around in her room before returning back to the camera's view.
"i'm feeling better since the last time we facetimed."
one of her father's, gregory, had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, which broke her heart, given that she grew up with this man as one of her father figures.
but she didn't want daniel to know. she couldn't let her family troubles impact his career, especially since he would just worry about her every second if he hadn't gotten on a plane to come see her.
"so what exactly happened, kails? you know that we don't do secrets or lying to one another."
there it was, the ultimatum that she had been given.
does she tell him, he gets on a plane, comforts her as her father passes away, then when his career calls him back, they go back to rarely speaking, to feeling guilty for his work to create such a developing gap in their relationship?
or does she ignore all the warning signs, and tell him a lie, promising that it wasn't anything serious and then he later finds out about her lies?

"greg's dying." she paused, noticing the shift in energy, even if it was through an electronic device, the brunette recognized the signals that it was the wrong choice. "he has terminal lung cancer. but he didn't want me to worry until it got to the end of his life- and here we are."
