Alex

Only five more months left before I can finally leave this fucking school.

Cora offered to drive Liv and I to school but I told them I wanted to walk there.

Before they left Liv gave me a kiss on the cheek letting me know she'd sit with me during lunch.

My first two classes go by fine but in third period, we have a new teacher.

I guess Mrs. Nelson switched schools so they brought in Miss. Roswell.

She used to teach at some private school I guess before transferring here.

Who would go from a private to publics school?

My palms begin to sweat as she tells us we'll have to come up to the front of the class and each answer a question.

Calculus is a bitch and I hate the idea of getting it wrong in front of everyone.

I take a deep breath when she tells me it's my turn to solve the problem.

Shakily I grab the marker and begin to solve it.

"Are you sure that's right Mr. Stevens?" She asks and I look back at my answer.

I redo it and get the same answer.

She shakes her head, "I'll give you one more chance to get it right."

My heart beat begins to quicken as I try again.

Now I cant seem to remember a single thing I learned this year, what the fuck?

I try one last time however but she shakes her head, "You forgot one major key point. You miss that and you won't even have a chance of getting it right. Please take a seat."

I sit back down but it does nothing to ease the feeling I have inside me.

My stomach feels like it's free falling and I cant breathe.

I end up bolting out of the class and down the stairs.

I only make it half way before my legs give out and I slide down the wall. I tuck my knees up as I try to breathe.

I sit down at the cafeteria table and wait for Alex.

"Have you seen Alex?" I ask as the three guys sit down.

Ben shakes his head, "No."

"I saw him when he left class a few minutes early, I don't know where he went though." Landon says as he passes by the table to sit at his.

"I'll go try and find him." I say as I stand up and grab my bag.

I use the main stairs and head over to where his Calculus class is.

The room is empty but I see his bag and phone by one of the seats.

I grab it before walking down the hall and going down the back stair case.

When I get halfway down where there is a flat path between the stairs I drop all of our stuff.

Alex is leaning against the wall, his knees are to his chest and his head is in his hands.

"Alex." I say and I can hear him breathing, almost as if he can't catch his breath.

I walk over to him and place my hand on his bicep, "Scoot forward."

He tries but he barely moves, I manage to fit behind him anyways.

I make him lean back against me and my arms circle around him.
