"For the last three years,"Luca explained, "I've been using these pills that control my anger, but lately the only thing they've been doing was push me away from everyone I know. I didn't mean to blow up at either of you earlier during school, that was wrong of me. That was totally wrong of me. And I understand if you want space or you feel like we shouldn't be friends anymore. I completely understand that. I just needed to say that so you guys know the truth."
Kate and Max looked at Luca. "That's why you've been acting strange lately?" Kate asked angrily, "Why you did what you did to us during school? Because mommy didn't prescribe you with your stupid medication this morning?" Luca nodded.
"It's going to take a lot more than a medication story for me to believe you," Kate said while standing up and leaving. Luca sighed and groaned a little.
"Just because she left, doesn't mean I have to,"Max smiled while walking over to Luca. Luca smiled. "You believe me?" Luca asked. Max nodded. "You didn't mean it,"Max said, "She'll come around, I promise."
"So?" Luca asked, "Are we good?" Max pulled Luca in for a hug, but they ended up kissing. Luca backed away quickly. Max shook his head. "I'm sorry,"Max apologized. "It's alright,"Luca said, "I'll see you later." Max nodded.
"Hey Max,"Luca called. Max looked at Luca. "Yeah?" Max asked. "I'm down to be bandmates,"Luca said. Max nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow, Lucas,"Max said. Luca smiled. "You should smile more,"Max teased, "You look cute when you smile."
Luca blushed. "Goodnight, Luca,"Max said. "Goodnight, Max,"Luca said. Max left and Luca went upstairs. "Is everything okay now?" His mom asked.
Luca sighed. "With Max,"Luca said, "Everything's fine." "Kate?" His mom asked. Luca shook his head.
"I'll make things right,"Luca said, "I promise." His mom nodded and kissed his head. "Goodnight,"His mom said. "Night,"Luca said.
*Two weeks later*
Luca grabbed his backpack and headed out the front door. "Lukey!" He heard behind him. Luca turned around and saw Mariah running up to him. He picked her up from the ground and hugged her.
"I'll see you later,"Luca smiled. Mariah nodded and kissed his cheek. "Bye bye, Lukey,"Mariah said.
Luca put Mariah down. "Be good for me?" Luca asked while looking at Mariah. She nodded. "Promise?" Luca asked. "I promise,"Mariah said. Luca kissed her head, got in his car, and went to school.
*School*
Luca walked into the school and Max walked over to him. "Hey, I've been waiting for you for hours,"Max joked. Luca smiled. "Let's go,"Luca said. Max followed Luca to class.
"Have you talked to Kate?" Max asked. "She's been MIA for two weeks,"Luca said while sitting next to Max, "She's not answering my text or calls."
Max sighed. "Look man, she'll come around,"Max said. Luca nodded. "I hope,"Luca mumbled. "Hey, instead of talking about the sad things, let's talk about the good things,"Max said. "Like?" Luca asked.
"Us,"Max smiled. Luca looked at Max. "What about us?" He asked. Max intertwined his fingers with Luca's under the table, and leaned closer to his ear. "You know exactly what I mean,"Max whispered in his ear.
Luca blushed so much that his face was tomato red. "Calm yourself,"Max said, "We're in class. Only we know what can happen in private." Luca coughed and placed his head on the desk to hide his face.
"Shut up,"Luca laughed. Max grabbed Luca's shirt and pulled him to sit up. "What?" Luca asked. "Who is that?" Max asked while pointing to the door.
Luca looked over and saw his ex, Andy. "Andy Miller,"Luca said softly. Max smiled. "He's hot,"Max said. Luca glared at Max. "My ex,"Luca stated. Max winked at Luca. "No need to get jealous,"Max said, "I'm all yours."
"What does that mean?" Luca asked. Max was about to answer, but the teacher walked into the class. "Alright guys, today we're going to be learning….,"Mr. Pose explained as he wrote on the board.
*Break*
"Alright, so maybe try talking to her,"Max suggested, "If it doesn't work then you'll know she wasn't a great friend. What you have is serious, and if she isn't there to support you and help you out with it, then it's simple. Let her go."
"That's 17 years of friendship gone,"Luca complained. "Don't complain,"Max said, "Just do it." Luca sighed and looked at Max.
"If she listens?" Luca asked. "Then she's a good friend,"Max said. "If she doesn't?" Luca asked. "Let her walk,"Max said. Luca nodded.
"I'll see what I can do,"Luca said, "But for now, can we just talk about what we're doing later?" Max nodded. "We can talk,"Max teased, "Or we can do a lot more." Luca shook his head and went back to class.
