i would just like to say i'm back for more! yes, i'm still on my break, so i'll be updating while it lasts, so i hope y'all stay tuned for more!!

since i gave y'all some fluff last chapter, i noticed there was DEFINITELY a lack of fluff in this book so far. so i did some thinking and decided: why not give y'all one more?

(NAYEON'S POV)

Wendy: "And... boom! There it is!"

I held the ladder in place as Wendy stepped down carefully, then looked up and read the big poster she put on the wall.

"Come join us Saturday night 7-10pm for the time of your life! River Valley High's 25th annual homecoming dance!! Theme: Skating Rinks and Sockhops! Welcome to the 50s!"

"Wow! I like all the cool 50s themed decorations you put on the poster!"

Wendy: "Thanks! I hope with this theme, we get more people, AND they decide to dress up this time. Last time, whoever decided the theme was so generic, NO one dressed up."

"Heh, yeah. I wouldn't really consider "class colors" a unique theme..."

Wendy: "Yeah... but hopefully this dance will go well!"

"It will, don't worry!"

**rrrrrrringggggg!!!**

Wendy: "See you in English tomorrow?"

"Yep, I'll be there!"

I said my goodbye to Wendy and made my way out of the school.

Oh my gosh, this is gonna be amazing! I always get excited during homecoming week. When we dress up, the homecoming football game and the announcement of homecoming court during halftime, but I especially love the dance held on the weekend.

Oh, yes... the homecoming dance! I'm so excited for that. Just the thought of putting on a sparkly dress or fun costume and dancing to my favorite songs for hours is one of the best feelings. I seriously can't...

...oh shit.

CY: "Hi, Nayeon!"

Oh, no... that was Chaeyoung, my crush since middle school, who just passed by and said hello to me. Fuck, what do I say back to her?! I don't wanna embarrass myself!

"Oh! U-Um... h-hey Chae..."

Oh, and just my luck! She's walking up to me. I wonder if she can tell how red my face is.

CY: "What are you doing?"

"Uh... I-I was just leaving."

CY: "Oh, okay. Say, don't you think that geometry test we had was hard?"

"Oh, that? Yeah, it was pretty hard... I mean, how are we gonna use sin, cos and tan in real life??"

CY: "Yeah, haha!"

I smiled awkwardly.

CY: "So, uh... did you hear about the 50s themed homecoming dance?"

"Yeah, I was, um... I was helping Wendy put the posters up earlier."

CY: "Oh, so YOU two made the posters? They look really cool! That'll make people want to go for sure."

Oh my god, she just complimented my artistic skills! Stay cool, Nayeon, stay cool...
