first i just wanted to say sorry for not double updating like i said i would. i was on a roll with working on the last chapter and then i got tired and fell asleep💀so uhh sorry abt that😅

however, ima try to make up for it by using THIS chapter as a double update! that sounds like a nice deal, right? and i'm still on break so i can try to update whenever.

(CHAEYOUNG'S POV)

"Alright, guys! We've completed all the activities on our list for the day, and with 5 minutes to spare!!"

Kids: "Yayyyy!!!"

Girl #1: "Hey Chaeyoung, can we go swimming next?!"

Boy #1: "Yeah! I wanna see how many laps I can do without stopping!!"

I laughed at the little boy.

"Hah! Wow, you guys still have a lot of energy. I get it, you all still wanna have some fun... but we DO have to start heading back to the camp now. It's starting to get late!"

Girl #2: "Aw, man! Come on, Chae! You can just watch us while we're in the pool!"

"I know, I could... but you guys know the curfew rules: back on the camp property by 9, in your cabins by 9:45, in your assigned rooms at 10, and lights out at 11."

Boy #2: "Ugh, this summer camp is fun and all, but it's got so many freaking rules!"

"Rules to keep you all safe. Now, come on! Let's get back to your guys' cabin so you can get cleaned up."

The kids sighed as we made our way back to the cabins.

Y'know, being a camp staff at a summer camp is not as bad as I thought it would be. When my mother told me she wanted me to get a job for the summer, I was very hesitant because I didn't wanna spend my whole summer working. However, when she told me about working at a summer camp only an hour and a half away, I was pretty open to the idea.

I work at this place called Camp Castaways. It's an overnight camp for kids, mainly aged between 9-13. So far, I've had a lot of fun here, and working with this age group is not as stressful as I imagined. My group was made up of both boys and girls in the 5th grade. They're a very hyper and energetic group, but they're also very sweet kids and help me a lot.

We've done a lot together; I've taken them on hikes around the woods and taught them camping safety, we've done marshmallow roasts and campfire stories, we've gone swimming and canoeing, and they've made various crafts that they could show their parents when they come back home.

However, the one thing that made this job better was that two of my friends, Jeongyeon and Momo, also decided to sign up and be camp staff with me! Knowing that I'd be with some friends over these two weeks made everyone seem so much better.

Back to the current situation now. I was leading the kids back to the camp so they could get washed up and get ready for bed. While on my way back, I bumped into Jeongyeon and her group of kids.

"Oh, hey!"

JY: "Hey! How did everything go today?"

"Pretty good! We completed the scavenger hunt, and then we went hiking in those woods over there. We're just getting back now."
