Eun-Bi stormed inside with Soobin following her. They both stood in front of the principal's door, breathless and soaked with rain.
"Let's teach this kid a lesson!" Eun-Bi said out loud as she grabbed the knob and turned it.
The door opened to reveal the principal and a student. Eun-Bi halted in her steps as her eyes fell on the student.
Blue Hair.
It's the blue-haired boy.
The principal noticed the pair standing in the door, and she stood up with a jerk.
"There you are!" She got off her chair and marched towards them.
"The detectives saw this boy in the CCTV camera footage from last night. Though nothing connects the incident directly to him, what else would a student be doing in a school at night than some terrible prank? Besides, the email that I received on his transfer from his former school's principal shows that he is a, what do you call it? A rogue."
Eun-Bi was facing a dilemma. For the first time, she couldn't understand what she was to do. Yeonjun couldn't have done something so horrendous for no reason. Maybe it was a mistake, maybe he had a good reason. Whatever it was, she needed to find out.
"And we did catch him snooping around the staffroom on his second day," Soobin added.
"I guess we should call the school violence committee on this one. Starting a fire in a school is no joke."
Eun-Bi glared at Soobin. Who was he to suggest that?
"Let's not take harsh decisions out of the blue," She said as she put on her best professional face. Yeonjun, whose eyes had been focused on the ground this whole time, looked up and glanced at Eun-Bi. His eyes were beaming with something inexpressible.
"Let me talk to the boy first."
The two, Soobin & the principal, gave her a dubious look but gave in. No one could quite understand what was going on in Eun-Bi's brain, but at the end, her methods always worked.
And so the meeting was dismissed, Yeonjun was sent home and Eun-Bi went to her office for some after-school errands. She cracked her knuckles as she sat before her computer and searched the students' phone numbers.
Choi Taeyang
Choi Jaehyun
Choi Daniel, AHA!
She was just about to save his number but before she could, the door clicked and opened. She hurriedly closed the tap and banged the power off button. Soobin walked in and looked at her cluelessly.
"The bus arrives in 15 minutes," He said awkwardly and was about to leave before he had a second thought.
"What are you doing here?"
"I was..." Her mind frantically looked for excuses.
"...looking for something in here." She opened the desk drawer and rummaged through it to look for something as a defense. Yeonjun's vape was what showed on the top, she hesitantly took it and put it in her bag.
"I got it. Let's go."
The rain was still splashing as hard as it had begun. Eun-Bi hadn't brought an umbrella today, but Soobin had offered to accompany her to the bus station. Her ego was as sky-high as the pyramids of Giza but racing to the bus station all dripping didn't seem like the best choice either. They both walked to the bus station in complete silence.
Soobin shut the umbrella and flapped it, drying it. The tips of his burgundy-purple hair were still soaked and scattered over the expanse of his broad forehead. He sighed as he sat down and placed the umbrella beside him. He ruffled his hair to get rid of the excess moisture in them. Presently, his eyes fell on the girl closely observing him and his heart skipped a beat.
