"The police will carry the investigation secretly to avoid any public attention ." Eun-Bi toured the room as she addressed the council members in it.
"Meanwhile, I ask all of you, every single one of you, to remain silent about the incident."
"No one is to speak of even a single bit of ash present in that room, understood?"
"Understood!" The council said together as if they were loyal soldiers going to battle.
Soobin stood beside her with his arms crossed on his chest, frustration evident on his face for having to deal with this first thing in the morning.
"You may carry on with your day, good luck!"
Everyone got off the chairs and left the room in an orderly fashion. As Eun-Bi got out behind the line of council members, Soobin followed her. She halted in her steps and turned around.
"I believe there is no further information that we need to discuss, Vice President," Eun-Bi said without even a hint of friendliness. She was mad at both Soobin and Irene for not picking up her calls last night and she wasn't going to let go of it any time soon.
"You do not need to follow me to my office."
She stomped away, not looking back at Soobin once, leaving him exasperated by her rude conduct.
"If that's how you wanna play, let's play." Soobin thought, not realizing that it was his ego, not him, speaking.
The weather wasn't very good that day. It was a rather harsh day, strong chilly winds were furiously blowing and there was a chance of heavy rain. All outdoor activities for the day were canceled and everyone had the case of the 'indoor blues'.
The first lectures of the day were completed and a big crowd of students were roaming around in the corridors, creating a jam-packed atmosphere. For Eun-Bi, however, it was a relief that she had her own office to go to.
She sat at her desk going through what had been taught to her today. Even though she seemed pretty involved in her books, her mind was distorted and she felt tired. A halo surrounded her thinking capability.
She thought it futile to study in such a state and hence, got out of the room and walked around the school. She hadn't walked much farther from her office when she saw Marshal, a notable council member. He was the captain of BW's basketball team and had a note-worthy physique. Being blatantly rejected by Soobin to be her partner for Dance Gala, the biennial party, Eun-Bi decided to ask Marshal to go with her.
She greeted him as she walked over to talk.
"I was wondering..." She said, pretty confident that Marshal would agree to be her partner.
"If you would like to be my partner for the Dance Gala?"
Marshal seemed taken aback by her words.
"I don't know what you two are trying to do." He took out his phone from his back pocket and opened up his messages.
"But Soobin told the council not to accompany you to the Gala." He showed her a council group chat, of which she was not a part of, and put his finger on a message from Soobin.
'If Eun-Bi asks any of you to be her partner for Dance Gala, DON'T AGREE."
When the participants asked him why, he responded by saying that he intended to be her partner and didn't want anyone to ruin that.
Soobin, you liar.
Eun-Bi felt betrayed at the sight of her most dear friend plotting against her like that. But along betrayal, she felt anger, for the entire council would now think something was going on between them.
