Of all the moments she could bump into him, why now? Dong-Wook waved at her as he pushed back the hair from his face displaying the beautiful expanse of his forehead. His long and slender figure charmingly stood behind her. He was wearing a black leather jacket with blue jeans, a plain black t-shirt underneath, and a muffler wrapped around his neck. The song kept playing in the background spellbinding the moment a bit more.

He walked in front of her and sat down, asking the girl on the counter to bring him a cappuccino. He stretched his slim legs as he sat down.

"How you been?" He asked leaning back on his chair as he yawned.

A normal person would've have ignored a yawn but since Eun-Bi was nowhere normal when it came to rivals, she took the yawn as a flex, that he was showing off that he had been so busy that he couldn't sleep properly.

"Oh, really busy these days." She said as she took another sip.

The counter girl brought him his coffee. He took it and mouthed a 'thanks' as he paid for the drink.

"Yeah, man. I've been busy as hell too"

Yeah, sure.

"So, you not coming to the party this year either?" His voice had this insinuating tone that even though Eun-Bi hadn't found a partner yet, she couldn't stop herself from saying 'yes'.

"Guess what?" She gave him the most egotistical expression possible.

"I am coming this year."

Dong-Wook looked at her, astounded. His amazement gave Eun-Bi utmost satisfaction nurturing her rivalry

"Woah, g-great! A-amazing! Wasn't expecting that!" He stuttered as her answer took him by surprise. Eun-Bi mentally did a victory dance at this. Her expression, however, was not so subtle about her happiness.

"What do I do now?!" Eun-Bi screamed in frustration as she rolled in her bed.

She had to attend the party no matter what now, even if she had to go alone. That's the price you pay for lying. Soobin and Irene weren't attending her calls and her Nana was out too, so she had no one to narrate the anecdote to.

Engulfed in dread, Eun-Bi started imagining how everyone would laugh at her if she came to the party alone. The grinning faces of hundreds of people appeared in her mind and it made her miserable. She attempted to go to her happy place, but all in vain. Her thoughts were all over the place and to bring them together and organize them, she needed help.

Taking light steps, she treaded to the balcony to ease her mind. Her neighborhood was silent and calm, the streetlamps lit with an orange hue. Eun-Bi seated herself on one of the chairs as she began to reminisce.

The golden bells rang as the couple, ready to take their vows, stood on the altar. 10 years old Eun-Bi and Irene were on either side of the altar with bouquets in their hands that they were going to give to the bride while little Dong-Wook and Soobin held the rings in a red cushion waiting to get called by the priest.

The priest asked for the rings and the boys gave them to him. Dong-Wook and Soobin covered their eyes immediately to not see the kiss, making the girls giggle at them. Irene and Eun-Bi gave the bride the bouquet and she tossed it in the crowd, causing havoc among the unmarried people in the party. Oh, it was quite the sight.

As all the rituals and traditions were taken care of, the party began and to enjoy this event to the fullest, the parents of our protagonists made them sit together at the corner-most table in the hall where they sat munching on some treats

"I love weddings,"  Irene said with a full mouth as she ate a club sandwich.

"Me too," Soobin joined her, holding two patties in his hands.

"The food is just amazing." Irene and Soobin said, synchronized and they burst into giggles.

Eun-Bi gave them both an incredulous look as she raised her brow.

"What? " Soobin asked, annoyed.

"I hate weddings." She replied readily with revulsion on her face.

"Wastage of money that could be used for greater purposes."

Good old Eun-Bi.

"Exactly." Dong-Wook nodded his head as he agreed with the little girl seated next to her.

"Tch tch, joykills!" Irene jumped in as she finished her sandwich.

"I prefer Irene now," Soobin said as he winked at Irene.

"Eun-Bi, you can marry Dong-Wook, since he clicks with you."

Dong-Wook and Eun-Bi were both taken aback by Soobin's not-so-childish remark as they glanced at each other with flushed cheeks. Young Dong-Wook, a big flirt by birth, stood up and asked Eun-Bi to dance with her.

Dong-Wook's intend was to play around with Soobin's remarks and make Eun-Bi a part of it too, but Eun-Bi wasn't playing around when she agreed to dance.

It's all fun and games until someone catches feelings.

The cold wind struck Eun-Bi's face as she came back to her balcony. That fortunately unfortunate night was still as vivid as if it had happened just yesterday. She wanted to stop thinking about it but the sensation she had felt when Dong-Wook placed his hand on her waist was too overwhelming to forget like that. Her mistake was that she had fallen for the first guy that came her way.

Terrible mistake to make, I tell you.

Eun-Bi wrote 'meet Dr. Han' on top of her list for tomorrow as she got into her pajamas and went to bed. As the president of the student council, she got to visit Dr. Han more often than regular students.

The following morning, Eun-Bi got to school 2 hours early as usual for the morning 'petrol' with Soobin and other council members. BW* was highly suspicious of YG** for stealing ideas from them and hence, even with tight formal security at night, the student council had patrol shifts. Eun-Bi favored the morning shift more since...she was scared of the dark.

Unlike other days, today wasn't gonna be as tranquil, for when she got into school premises, she saw a police car parked inside. She rushed in to see what was going on and observed a crowd around Dr. Han's office and when she approached the place, to her surprise, she saw the office burnt to the ground.
