Lucy kissed my head and wrapped her arms around me. "You ok kitten?" She asked.

"Huhum," I mumbled with my eyes closed.

"You sure?"

"Just tired." She pulled the blanket around me and I was out.

Once Luca left for school Lucy went towards her office, I grabbed my phone to see a text from Damon. 'I miss you'

'Miss you too! Sorry things been.... ya.' I sent before starting the dishes. After a few minutes, my phone rang.

"Hello," I said putting it on speakerphone.

"Hey, everything ok?"

"Yes and no."

"You and Lucy ok?"

"Oh, we're perfect. It's just about Luca, his mom wants to get custody of him."

"Does he want that?"

"Fuck no, he cried himself to sleep last night because he didn't want to go to his mom's."

"That's a sin." He mumbled.

"Yep, so now I'm stressed because he's upset."

"It'll be ok, I'm sure it'll be."

"Thanks." I sighed.

"So you and Lucy doing good?"

"It's the best it's ever been, to be honest."

"Good, you deserve it. I'm happy for you, I told you that you still loved her then."

"Anyways." I rolled my eyes as if he could see.

"You were so thick-headed."

"Well, what was I suppose to do? Admit I still loved her my Ex who I thought was banging her Ex?"

"Well when she came by the first time you would have actually talked to each other and so much stress would have been avoided."

"And bad decisions."

"I feel like Andy keeps hoping you'll come back."

"Why? She was quite obviously done with me."

"She always comes here gets a drink then leaves, and she hints around about you."

"I don't care, it's been over a year. If she actually cared she would have tried to keep me."

"Salty?"

"Fuck no." I picked up my phone after drying my hands. "I'm pissed I made myself stay with her so long."

"Well, we all do things we regret."

"Yeah, but I slept with someone out of guilt," I said quietly.

"But, look on the plus side. You're with Lucy, your happy, and someday when your gray and married you'll laugh about it."

"I don't know about getting married, Lucy has never once mentioned marriage."

"Well anyway, you guys are met to be together and you're going to last forever."

"I hope so." I smiled to myself.

"Well I gotta go, I'll talk to you later."

"Alright, bye." I pressed end and tossed my phone on the couch. Once I swept and mopped the floor I stuck my head in Lucy's office to see her typing on her computer. "Hey."

"Jesus." She jumped. "Kitten you scared me."

"I'm sorry, I was wondering if you wanted coffee."

"Sure." She nodded. I walked in to grab her mug and she closed her screen. "Come here." She pulled me on her lap and kissed my neck.

"How's work."

"Boring. I have to do a zoom meeting in an hour, one of the hotels has an old restaurant attached to it and the owners want to sell it to me."

"Fun." She hummed and buried her face in my hair.

"I love you."

"I love you too," I said pulling away and looked at her.

"What?" She asked.

"You're really beautiful," I said and she rolled her eyes. "You are."

"Go get me my coffee." She said pushing me up, I smiled down at her and she pointed towards the door. I quickly got her a coffee and brought it to her, she sipped it and glanced up at me.

"I'm going to read."

"Ok." She nodded. "Want one of my books?" She asked, I glanced at her bookshelf and shook my head.

"No, I don't know what I want to read." I sighed.

"Can I pick a book for you?" She asked standing up, she went to her shelves and after a minute pulled down a book and walked over passing it to me The 'Adventures of Huckleberry Finn'. "Be careful with it though."

"Why?" I asked opening it.

"It was a couple thousand dollars."

"What?" I asked closing it.

"It's from 1885." I went to pass it back to her but she shook her head. "Read it, it's good." She nodded.
