What? Another update when it's not a Sunday?
Ha, ily guys and I'm sorry I missed a week before last week. So, here's the update for that. And my fellow readers, enjoy and have a great week!
---
Max didn't bother to tell me where he was taking me until we got there. And I couldn't complain because I'd done the same the time when we went to the beach after planning the project.
And speaking of beaches, Max was stupid enough to bring me to one as our first... date.
It's the least to say that I had a big scowl on my face. I didn't want to believe that I skipped a party at Liam's house to go to some stupid beach. It wasn't even the one I took him to. But, a little annoyed to say, it's also the truth that, I was a little excited that it was with Max and, well, we were on a date.
So many thoughts ran in my head.
What were we going to do?
What if someone saw us?
What if someone from school saw us?
What if we end up in one of our houses? Not mine obviously since Mr. Dad and Mrs. Mum were home. Then again, I was ninety-nine percent sure that Max's grandma Helena was also in her's.
So that thought went right into the bin.
"Alan."
Did I want to end up in a house with him?
I blinked realising that Max had already started setting a blanket that he'd brought with him. I walked from his car and helped, placing the picnic basket on the corner in front before seating myself on the right, Max following behind on my left.
I didn't say anything until Max cleared his throat and looked at me like he was trying to figure something out. It should've been awkward. Coming out on a date when it was turning night. With a guy any less. And just sitting there not knowing what to say or what to do.
But it wasn't.
I didn't feel so out of place. And the more I looked at the guy next to me, I wondered how I didn't want to be near him in the past. Because it felt nice. It felt safe.
"Are we swimming?"
Max blinked. "Do you want to?"
I knew why he asked. It was getting darker and darker by the minute and the only light source was the street lights from the parking lot behind us and the stars and moon above us. "Well, I didn't bring anything with me..."
Max rolled his eyes. "As if that's going to stop you from running into that with whatever you have." We both share a smile and he leans back on his palms behind us. "You can if you want... but I wouldn't if I was you. I heard that this place is quite active with crocodiles in them. They say because it's not that salty."
As soon as I realise that Max was actually talking about crocodiles, a shiver went right up to my spin, making me flinch visibly.
"You never see them coming they say."
Another shiver tried to make its way up through my body. "What." It wasn't even a question. My mind was still trying to process the information, and the results of it afterwards.
"What?" He only asked back.
"What? What?" I leaned into Max's personal space, making sure he can see that I was mad and annoyed. Plus, freaking out. "Max, the hell man?! Do you know anything about crocodiles?! I thought you were supposed to be smart!"
