I put the finishing touches on Faye and Aria's cake when Jessa comes running in all flustered. "Aww. That's so cute. I love it," Jessa says as she notices the unicorn cake I baked for the girls. I have little matching cupcakes too. "Where are the twins?"
"Still napping."
"Good. Help me carry in bags."
I raise my eyebrows at the bundle of bags she already has in her hands. "Umm. I get that turning two is a big deal, but did we really need to buy the entire store?"
"Hush. I got a head start on Christmas shopping. They're going to be so fun this year. I couldn't help it."
"Somehow I have a feeling you're going to continue to shop for them and we'll have gone way overboard."
"Says the man that literally goes overboard with everything."
"Touché." I wipe my hands off and help carry in bags. Jessa pulls out the birthday presents and then has me stash the rest in the attic.
"Can you start decorating? I need to wrap these and then I'll come help you. I can't believe we're going to have a full house in a couple of hours. I don't feel ready."
I wrap her in my arms and give her a brief kiss. "It's just friends and family. It doesn't have to be perfect. Hell I'm sure they'd help decorate or cook if we're not ready yet."
"I know. I'm just stressing over nothing. It's just the first time we've seen some of them in awhile and I want everything to be perfect."
"Are you sure you're not secretly freaking out that the twins are turning two?"
She sighs and rest her head against my chest. "How is it even possible? These last two years flew by too fast. I miss my little babies."
"I know, but that's why we're in this predicament now," I say as I caress her stomach. "Hello, my little love. Please be growing a wiener."
"BOBBY," she slaps my arm. "Don't say that. What if it's another girl?"
"It's not. It's a boy. I know it."
"We'll find out soon. Are you excited?"
"Yes. I'm very excited to find out that I'm definitely having a boy. He might be younger, but he'll help take care of his sisters."
She shakes her head at me. "Go on. Go get decorating."
JESSA
We managed to get everything finished before anyone arrived. Bobby is cooking now, so I sit down and put my feet up. This pregnancy is way easier than my last. I'm still tired though so I take this downtime to relax. Faye and Aria are playing with blocks and I'm hoping to keep the house and their cute birthday outfits presentable.
