JESSA

Everyone comments on my dress as I'm wheeled through the hospital. I don't know how many times I explained that I just left a wedding. I'm just relieved we made it in time and Bobby doesn't have to do it this time.

As soon as I'm in a room, Bobby helps me change into a hospital gown. I watch him remove his tie and suit jacket, throwing them on the chair. He rolls his sleeves up and I'm caught checking him out. He looks really good. Sexiest dad ever. He gives me a wink when he see me watching.

"Alright Jessa," the nurse says as she walks in the room. "Let's check you first and then I'll get your IV going." Bobby helps ease me down in bed and she positions herself between my legs. I see the surprise on her face before she says anything. "You are already at a 9! Wow. How's your pain?"

"It hurts."

"Yeah. I expect so. It's too late for an epidural," she says with worry.

"It's fine. I was planning on a natural birth anyway. Our last baby unexpectedly arrived at home."

"Wow. You're a pro at this then." I just smile at that. Not sure I'm a pro, but this has to be easier than Cora's birth since we're here.

After my IV is in, Bobby helps me up. "Give me your phone," I order.

"Why?"

"Because you look fucking hot and it needs documented." He chuckles as he hands over his phone. I snap some pictures of him. "I'm over here a hot mess and you look like a fucking model."

"You're gorgeous, love. There's nothing more beautiful than watching you bring my child into the world."

"Bobby," I choke out. "I love you so much."

"I love you more, Lass. So much more." Now he's making me cry. I get ready to respond, but a strong contraction hits.

We've only been here for 15 minutes when I feel the need to push. "It's time," I gulp at Bobby.

"You have to push? Already?" I nod. He really shouldn't be surprised after Cora's birth. He calls the nurse and she immediately gets the doctor.

Bobby kisses me tenderly after a contraction. "So what's your final guess? Boy or girl?"

"Girl," I say.

"That's my guess too. Either way, I can't wait to hold the wee one."

"Me too."

"I love you." He gives me a gentle kiss.

BOBBY

I'm just relieved that we're here and a doctor is between Jessa's legs. My fear throughout this entire pregnancy was her giving birth anywhere except the hospital. I'd awaken in the middle of the night, covered in sweat, after having a nightmare about it. So I'm just happily standing here, holding her hand and encouraging her through and after her pushes.

In no time though, I start to get concerned. She's now pushing longer than she did with either pregnancy. She isn't progressing much through the pushes and she's getting exhausted.

"Bobby," she cries. "I can't do this. What's wrong?" She must be aware that this is taking longer than normal for her.

"You're doing amazing, love."

"Jessa, it looks like you are delivering a big baby here. I need you to give your pushes everything you've got."

"I am," she cries.

"Come on, Lass. You've got this. Think of the baby. Let's get it out for cuddles. Ok?"

"Yeah. Ok."

She bares done and pushes, and pushes, and pushes some more. It finally looks like she's making progress, but it's so slow. I try to keep a smile on my face to hide my concern. I'm terrified though. Is this normal? I want to ask but I don't want to scare her, so I keep my mouth shut.
