BOBBY
I watch my heavily pregnant wife, waddle down the aisle. I know how uncomfortable and miserable she is. She looks gorgeous though. Bre all of a sudden freaked out about having a baby without being married. They had decided to get married after the birth, but she panicked. So here we are. Jessa's past her due date at 41 weeks 3 days pregnant. Bre is currently 34 weeks pregnant. She threw this wedding together in a month. We expected the baby to be here by now, but boy were we wrong. It's a small ceremony, only their closest family and friends. Jessa is the only bridesmaid and Noah has his brother standing up with him. Thank goodness it's in London so it's close to our hospital.
I can't help but feel bad for Jessa as the ceremony drags on. I know she's having bad back pain and I can only imagine how much she hurts standing up there this long. She keeps her smile plastered to her face though.
As Bre says her vows, I glance at Jessa and notice her face contorted in pain. My stomach jumps in my throat. What was that? That better not be a contraction. I check the time and study her intently. In five minutes, I can tell she's in pain again. Fuck. Five more minutes, more pain. I lean over and whisper to Lottie, "From what I've seen, Jessa has had three contractions, each five minutes apart."
Lottie's eyes grow huge. "Are you serious?"
"Aye. She'll have another in less than a minute."
Like clockwork, Jessa's face tightens. This time she moves her hand to her stomach.
"Oh no," Lottie whispers. "At this rate, she's going to have the baby standing up there. Did you play ball? You might need to catch it."
"Bloody hell," I mumble. "They're still far apart, but she progressed so fast last time."
Ava grabs my hand and shushes me. "No talking, Bobby."
"Oops. Sorry," I wink at her.
Jessa's pain is very subtle. If you aren't paying attention, you wouldn't realize anything was going on. She finally locks eyes with me. I mouth the words, 'you ok?' She nods, but I'm still worried.
