Girls don't want to make their enemy jealous, girls want to see their enemy set himself on fire.

Dune left her leather jacket with Topper on purpose, she wanted him to see that the country club wasn't dead. It grew alive the moment she stepped into the island. Rafe made his way towards Dune and JJ, who were all over each other. Dancing, kissing, devouring each other, that's what lovers do. But enemies, enemies trace their gun all over each other, every touch would be a threat and every stare would be a trap.

As a victim of cocaine, his mind couldn't function properly. He couldn't differentiate between what's right and what's wrong. He finds himself kissing the land she steps on, even if his biggest wish was watching her all tied up, blood trailing down her lips and her eyes wouldn't show any sign of fear. Everyone feared him, and he feared Ward. But Dune, feared no one.

"Hey JJ, do you like my new jacket?" smirked Rafe, giving Dune and JJ a 360 of his look. Hunger hovered Dune's eyes, she knew he'd look good, but not that good. While JJ's grip tightened around Dune's waist, he chose to show off his best smile. He stopped Rafe from twirling around and tapped his shoulders, taking the jacket off Rafe and throwing it at Dune. Showing anger, to JJ, was a weakness.

"Explain, Dune, what the hell is this?" yelled JJ, making Dune's bones melt under her skin. She looked at Rafe, who was smirking in return, waiting for an answer. She didn't have anything to say. She tried to find the words, during times like these, silence was a choice. She looked around her, they were all watching her. The Pogues and the Kooks, even the wannabes and the neutrals. She stood in the middle when she wished she was close to the ablaze fire.

"I designed this jacket in New York, and gave it to Topper to hold it for me. That's it."

"Are you sure? because Topper told me that you made this jacket for me, for us actually. WE have to finish what we started, don't we?" he said, then killed the space between them, his eyes pinpointed at JJ. "He also told me you're here to make me jealous, don't pretend it's not working." whispers were Rafe's love language.

"Lies, you're a lunatic Rafe. But it's true, I came here because of you. I came here to destroy you, because people like you happen once in a lifetime, and people like you deserve to get down on their knees for people like me. I know your what is your little game and I know who's your accomplice." she looked at Kiara whilst emphasizing on accomplice. It was too much to comprehend, she knew. She looked at JJ, his hands were bound to pull his hair out.

"Get down on your knees, Rafe." she continued. Pinning him down by his shoulders, falling down on his knees slowly. "Remember what I told you that night? fear me."

He scoffed, getting up as fast as he could, grabbing her wrists with one hand and her jaw with the other. JJ's fingerprints lied underneath her skin, and Rafe's were engraving themselves in. That's who she was, an intoxicated empress who fights with her eyes if her hands were tied just like now. She spat at him, he backed away, wiping the spit with his thumb and sucking on it afterwards. Her stomach twisted and turned, JJ's gone.

He could be anywhere, watching his surroundings burn with tears in his eyes. The further she ran from the noise, from the wannabes, from Rafe, the deeper guilt washed over her. She shouldn't have came to the bonfire let alone the island. She knew where to find JJ, the place that started it all. He was somewhere between the shadows, waiting for her to show up. Heavy hearted, her brain bit on itself wrenchingly, tears poured down her eyes. He didn't deserve any of this, she thought.

"Is that why you changed everything about the way you looked? So that it would be easier for me not to recognize you? But guess what, it worked, I do not know who you are anymore. You are not the girl who caressed my cheeks and kissed my bruises, you're not the girl who used to sneak me food making sure I didn't starve because my dad was too reckless. You are not Dune, Dune died in front of my eyes two years ago. There was blood, there was a crime scene, and I was beaten by my father in front of everyone. I couldn't save Dune and you're just a stranger I danced with at a bonfire, a summertime fling, someone I'd forget her name the next day."

"JJ please don't do this," she wept, some would say they're crocodile tears, some would say she's watering the dead roses on her cheeks. When in reality, she's in pain, regretful, scared of herself and what could she do. "Two years is a lengthy period of time, do you think I didn't notice anything in you? Your roughness, your rage, your melancholy. It showed all over your face, you wanted to kill me. What was stopping you? Kill me, choke me, watch my soul turn into dust. At least I'd die with the bruises you gave me, all over my face. Your fingerprints still burn and covering them with makeup does nothing. The damage is already done."

JJ's vision blurred, making him see Dune in multiples, escalating the agony. They stood as far as possible from each other, making space for the weight of the world. Closing her eyes, she recognized Rafe's scent. He wanted to talk one step forward, little did he know that distance was created for people like them.

"I guess we're just two people who got lucky and fell in love one summer. A fairytale that happens every hundred years. You and I, are prisoners of one youthful summer. And after that summer was over, we're back to being strangers. You're a kook and I am a pogue. You scrub your skin off thorns while I surf, that's who we are and that's who we will always be." said JJ, breaking one law of the universe, gravity. He held her hands and kissed her temples, then her forehead then her lips. "You will always taste like summer."

She kissed him back, then it hit her, the gun. The gun that lied peacefully in her purse was no longer there, someone stole it and that person is targeting it at JJ.
