If I ever had the chance to turn back in time, I would've called the medics and offered you my lungs, that way I wouldn't have been so stuck under your sleeve.

"Don't look into my eyes and tell me who i am supposed to be," she spat out, running out of breath. A foggy breath separated the sky from falling over their heads. A thin layer of clouds coated the sky, very high for them to reach, no one was going to save them this time.

"I don't need to tell you, because if i did, none of this would've made sense." He said, making his way towards her. His flamethrower bayonet hanged loosely around his hips, making him bleed as the tip dug into his skin from running. When you run out of options, killing yourself slowly keeps your composure, to die with pride than to die by homicide. The Country Club's second rule, Unela, now Dune, had written all the rules on a sheet of paper under the candlelight. Everyone was asleep at the mansion of thorns, lights off,  nothing's sweeter than finding solace in a dream. Rule #1: never tell the truth, lie until you lose your last tooth.

"You're lying through your teeth,"

"Does it look like i'm losing teeth right now?"

"No, but you will if you stop being so calm. The moment you've been waiting for came to you on a silver platter, you wanted to know the truth and the truth folded itself into a paper plane, landing right next to your feet. But what did you do about that? you stabbed your father to death instead of killing me. What you've done, is a sign that the worse is coming."

"You're not at fault, you just did what you were told. Do you think I wanted to kill Peterkin because I had something against her? He made me do it, setting me on borderline, the bullet either drowned in my chest or hers."  he sighed, trying to reach for her hand, she hesitated. The sky was prone to rain, and they had no choice but to jump in the water. Rule #3: Those who whispered the oath under their breath, must take the fall, hand on hand, and chest on chest.

"I want to believe you, but believing you won't change the fact that sacrifices equal my lies, however, I never lied when I said I am going to risk my life for you." she cried along with the sky, his eyes electrocuted her the way lightning executed the sea for having an affair with the moon, when no one was watching.

"Believe me or not, you're mine for life."

"I don't think I'm going to live that long."

"But I keep my word, i didn't kiss your knuckles and burned mine for nothing. An oath is an oath, murderers take the fall together or rise together."

"You don't even know me, you just know my name that's not even my name." she screamed, escaping his grip wasn't the best decision she's made, he pulled her in; hands on hands and chest on chest.

"I love a murderer called Unela. I love Unela. I fell in love with a murderer, a wreck, someone i can't escape." he blared. "She broke her bones for me, and I am going to do the same."

Rule #9: We pull each other from the tide, then we scream how much we love each other as we cry along with the sky.

The golden rule, a rule she had rewritten a thousand times before making its debut on paper. Written in a bold handwriting, a shriek at everyone who reads it, the only paper that survived the blaze, for he picked it up himself. She bit on her lip until she tasted her bones, fighting the urge to weep. Little did he know the secret behind this rule, yet the way his irises shadowed the gloss of the sea, he knew it better than anyone else. He even added his own touch to it, disguise menace with love. Soaking wet from the sky's tears on their clothes, they pulled each other closer, they escaped the sun thinking they'd be familiar with the ague. Their hearts were bitter, but incomplete.

"Pull the wires as i watch you breathe, promise that you'll take the fall just for me." she whispered, purposely, letting him immerse himself in his wails and yelps. "There'll come a day where we tarnish our own trust, raise the white flag, unlock us."

Touch killed their way to heaven, but she did it anyway. She brought her fingertips and caressed against his cheek, blood wore off his skin. It rained for a reason, perhaps to wash their sins, to tell them that everything will be alright. The unknown, as bittersweet the days were as divine the nights transpired. The nights where he'd hover over her, pick out the stars from the sky and pin them against her surface, twirling the galaxies with a bruised fingertip.

"You jump, I jump, Rafael."

They jumped as it rained, leaving the water explain to lightning what it feels like to be neglected then to find your soulmate.
