Chapter 6 - On My Knees

They were in bed holding each other, V was lightly tracing the scars with her fingertips. She sighed thinking about how they got here.

"What's on your mind?"

V looked up at him, his face was perfect with that smirk. "Just remembering how awful I thought you were."

"Oh come on, I wasn't that bad. I can't help it if I'm, what did you say again, God's gift." He gently scratched her back just enough so he could feel her skin start to get goosebumps.

"I'm sorry Dabi, I should have stayed with you today. Now this whole thing is my fault and I want to fix it."

"There's nothing to fix, we'll just clear it up in the interview."

"It's more than that, this could hurt the band and what if the backlash is so bad that it's over before you've really started."

"I don't care about that, I found my happiness and it's this. Right here with you."

"I won't be happy knowing I killed not only your dream but Hawks, Jin and Shigaraki's dream. I won't be the reason it's over." Dabi started to speak but V sat up and looked sad, "Don't say you don't care. You do and you should. Toga told me this has been a dream come true for you all and I'm not going to ruin that. There's only a few options. One I can just walk away and leave you and everything behind and hope you can just forget about me."

Dabi sat up and put his head back against the wall, "no."

V sat back against the wall and pulled her knees to her chest, "I don't want that, I just think of every option good and bad."

Dabi hit his head against the wall a few times, "I don't like any of this but if we do what Kai suggested then how will I know you won't fall for Shigaraki or get upset with me when you see me with my fans? I don't want to have drama when we could have avoided it."

V sat for a moment and it reminded her about one of her favorite movies. She mumbled "Come what may."

He turned to look at her, "what?"

"Oh nothing, I didn't mean to say that out loud."

"You mean from Moulin Rouge?"

"You know the movie?"

"I love Ewan McGregor, great actor and he can sing. So just leap of faith and just trust each other no matter what?"

She took his hand in hers, "I know we started off rocky and we still don't know each other very well but I want you to trust me. So actions speak louder right?" She took a deep breath because she was about to trust him completely. "Victoria, V stands for Victoria."

"Oh, Victoria is a beautiful name." He squeezed her hand.

"Wait there's more. Victoria is my middle name, my first name is Layla. Not even Nikki knows my first name, she knows Victoria but not Layla."

"Layla as in .."

"You got me on my knees. Yes."

He knew this was big for her to tell him, someone she only just met. He was curious why she didn't use her name anymore, "I'm sure you have your reasons but it couldn't just be the song reference."

"No not the song," she smiled amused, "I didn't like who I was when I went by my name. I was NOT a good person at all. When I met my husband he was kind, honest and a positive person so I just told him my name was V. I didn't want him to know Layla. Eventually I told him, I was nervous but he completely understood. I'm telling you because I want you to trust me, to trust us."
