Chapter 18 - Healing

Enji got to the clinic in less than 10 minutes even with Dabi yelling at him to take it easy so V wouldn't get tossed around. After Enji carefully placed her down in the back seat he quickly removed the bullet from Shigaraki's shoulder. Dabi had dressed it while they we driving.

"I said we needed to get her here fast, go inside and tell them I'm here. I'll grab her." Enji was already opening the backdoor.

Dabi raced inside and saw some nurses and a doctor waiting at the desk. "We need help."

One nurse glanced up and rolled her eyes, "Just have a seat sir, you'll need to fill out paperwork."

"I'm here with Enji Todoroki." He noticed they all looked at him and as they were about to go back to their work Enji walked in carrying V.

"I believe my son said we needed help."

The clinic started buzzing and everyone was grabbing something to help them. The doctor rushed over, "Get the stretcher. Mr. Todoroki sir, forgive us. We were told to be prepared for a visit but they never said who. Please set her down and let us get right to work."

"She has major stab wounds and her face was cut open. Someone tried to give her a Glasgow smile.  See to it that you fix it perfectly, I want her to barely have a mark, make sure it will disappear once it's healed. Understand." Enji spoke calmly but firm.

"Yes sir, Mr. Todoroki sir. I will do everything to ensure she's perfect but those are ..."

"I will not repeat myself."

"Yes, sir. Take her and get her prepped."

Enji almost forgot what Keigo had messaged him, "oh and Doctor one more thing." He turned to Dabi. "Dabi I shouldn't be the one to tell you this but they need to know before they start working on her."

Dabi looked at Enji confused, "Know what?"

"She's pregnant." He saw Dabi turn white and nodded to the Doctor.

"Thank you for letting us know sir." He was going to ask how far along but realized this was news no one knew. He left to start working on V.

Dabi stood in silence and it was Shigaraki that spoke first, "How do you know?"

Enji never took his eyes of Dabi, "Keigo, she had told her friend and she told him. The staff needed to know before they worked on her. Dabi, are you alright?"

"pregnant..." Dabi was shocked, now he not only was he worried about V but also his child. HIS CHILD? It sounded foreign saying it in his head.

Enji looked at Shigaraki and he just shrugged not knowing what to say. "Hey man, it's ok. Here sit down and breath."

"She's pregnant Shiggy, that means I'm going to be a dad right?"

"I mean that's usually how it works." Shigaraki sat Dabi down and Enji sat across from him.

"A child, a baby ... me a father? I never even thought about kids." He looked up at Enji, he had sworn never to have kids after the way he was raised. Enji couldn't hold his gaze, he looked sad? That was the first time he saw real remorse or emotion from his father. "Dad?"

Enji looked surprised, he hadn't been called that in a long time, "Yes son?"

Dabi coughed, it felt odd calling him dad but he went on, "Were you nervous about becoming a father?"

Shigaraki sighed in relief and let out a chuckle, "damn dude. I'm going to get us some coffee. Maybe get a nurse to clean me up a little."

"Hey I did a great job, ungrateful." Dabi looked back at his father and waited.
