My final familiar was a shadow phoenix. It's cage was in a dark, shadow-y corner of the shop. Now I had seen phoenixes before- Dumbledore had a fire phoenix- but this one was….I couldn't ever describe it properly. It was beautiful, majestic, elegant, peaceful and dangerous at the same time. It's black and white body was shining as if dipped in mercury, its wings and feathers looked as if they were dissolving into the shadows, as if it were the shadow. The ends of its wings had a bluish-purplish fire burning.

It looked...Royal. I was dumbstruck when I saw him. Wow…! was my only thought. "You're beautiful." I said.  "Thank you master…" " I heard his voice which brought me out of my reverie. "I am Haiden. Please do not call me master." "As you wish...Haiden." I nodded at the phoenix and told Gabe the shopkeeper to open the-gigantic yet still small-cage for the phoenix. The Phoenix burst out of the cage and landed on my shoulder, nipping at my ear affectionately. I smiled a little at that. "I will call you skiá (skii-ya). It means shadow in greek." Skia nodded his affirmation and we were off to the front of the shop and I paid 250 galleons (with discount, because they were my familiars but damn they are expensive) for them and we were out of the shop after 1 hour and fifteen minutes of familiar hunting.

Ennea, Furoar and Skia had turned into more common animals as to not draw attention so now I had two dogs walking at my either side and a black owl perched on my shoulder while Caligo was still wrapped around my arm under my long sleeved hoodie. We shopped for clothes, books etc and before I knew it, it had already been 2 and a half hours. I had all my shopping bags minimized in size with feather-light charms on them in my pocket and I was on my way to get my new wand.

I got my new wand, it was a mix of three colours...very beautiful but incredibly dangerous. I paid 57 galleons for it and was on my way to the leaky cauldron, but not before grabbing lunch. I went to the room I was staying in, fed Hedwig and while I took a shower and changed into my new clothes which was a black hoodie with a skull smoking a cigarette on the back and some black ripped at the knee jeans, my familiars quickly became great friends. Hedwig started mother henning(owling?)  them, because well she's 'been there done that and is also currently doing that'.

They had quickly become a family and then I realized that I also had to go and face my family. I must have been making a glum face because Ennea nudged me and looked at me questioningly. I shook my head with a small smile and stroked her pure white fur. "Now we have to do the familiar bond." Skia said. I nodded. A familiar bond is made with reciprocated trust and respect between the familiar and master. The familiar bites the master and he/she gets a familiar mark which allows the familiar(s) and master to talk telepathically, it also allows the familiar(s) to travel with their master through the marks. The marks look like tattoos of the animal(s).

Skia bit me on my left shoulder and I felt a small burning sensation go through me. The same happened when Ennea bit on my right forearm, Furoar bit my left ankle and Caligo my right wrist. I saw tattoos appear and in a flash of light, all four of them disappeared inside their marks making them look alive. 'Can you hear me?' I thought, trying to talk to them telepathically. 'Yes.' 'Yep' 'Yeah' 'Mhm' were the replies I got. 'Great.' I thought to myself and then for them to hear I thought 'Ok'. After that it was silent for a while.

I sigh, 'Now or Never' I think to myself as I think about transfiguring my comfy clothes to more formal ones, get all my stuff, check out from the Leaky Cauldron and apparate to the front gate of the Riddle manor. The gates opened themselves as they could feel the heirship. I knocked on the door and within 20 seconds a house elf answered the door. "State your business" the house elf said. It was dressed in a black suit with the symbol of the house of Riddle on the crest of his suit pocket. "I am here to see the Dark Lord" I said in a professional tone. "The Dark Lord is busy right now." The elf said curtly. I raised an eyebrow at that, " oh is he? Well tell him his son is here to see him." I said while showing him the heir ring.

"Of-ofcourse y-young master." The elf looked like he did the biggest blunder in the entire world. He let me come in and took me to the living room telling me to wait while he went to tell my parents I had come. I looked around the room, it had polished black marble walls with silver and green designs. There were portraits and pictures hanging from the walls. I even saw a few family pictures of before I was kidnapped. Wedding photos too. What surprised me the most was the 60 inch flat screen TV on the opposite side of the room from the couch.

It didn't take too long and within five minutes I heard two sets of rushed footsteps coming down the hall. My mother Kathleen Ivy Lestrange had long, silky black hair and bright avada kedavra eyes which promptly glossed over as she saw me. She hugged me and broke down crying, "It's really you Haiden?!" She said in disbelief. "Yes mum, it's really me." I said softly as I hugged her back. We stayed like that for a while before she stopped sniffling and I pressed a small kiss to her temple.

I looked at my father who looked….well looked human, surprisingly. He was also trying hard to contain his alpha instincts as I hugged my mum and I understood that, even if I was his cub/son, I was still an unmated dominant and moreover an alpha so it was natural for him to feel a bit threatened. I went towards him hoping for a hand shake but he surprised me by hugging me. He didn't look like the 'I will hug my son because I missed him' kinda father but then again I had never thought I was the son of the Dark Lord. I hugged him back. We sat down, had  a cup of tea and told them how I came into my inheritance today.

After a while my father asked the real question, "Where were you all this while?" I took a deep breath and took out my birth certificate and inheritance certificate and handed it to them. As they took the papers from my hand, I saw their expressions change from confusion to anger to awe. My father's expression was filled with guilt, "I-I'm so sorry son…" he said. "I won't say it's alright... because it really isn't….but I understand." I replied. It really wasn't alright because for so many years I thought I didn't have parents, almost died every year..etc...but I really did understand what he did and why, honestly. I wasn't about to lie to my dad, but then again it would take me some time to actually, fully forgive him. Even if it wasn't fully his fault.

He nodded and then we talked about my inheritances, "You have very strong creature inheritances. You have to train and practice a lot to control and master them." I nodded yes. "Well I can teach you how to cooperate with your wolf while your mother can train you on shadow and elemental mage. But I have to say that it's going to be rough because these are things you have to be taught from a very young age. So son, can you do it?" "Yes. I can do it." I said with an affirmative tone.

My parents nodded, satisfied with my response. "Well today you can freshen up, make yourself familiar with the manor and we start with your training tomorrow. If you work hard enough you might be able to learn everything in about 3 months."  3 months? Oh absolutely not. I need to learn everything this month before I go to Hogwarts. "I will learn everything this month." I tell them. They looked at me with raised eyebrows. "Are you sure? It's a lot of training and a lot of work, we could teach you everything but we don't want you to overwork yourself too much." "I am sure." "Very well then." And this is how my one month of hell began.
