LOVE SO PASSION

CHAPTER 21

       
Confused, full of questions and still determined to move forward to the altar, Sofia couldn't believe what her instincts kept telling her.

That maybe Malvis had backed out of his decision to marry her;going down memory lane she recalls being the one person to always bringing up the marriage discussion but with time and words of advice from Mrs, Charlotte she had closed the topic and focused on her growth.

As she kept moving forward she couldn't decipher the emotions in his eyes,but saw one of a plea,remorse at the same time he smiled the way a man smiles on his wedding day.

Giving her a tender squeeze on her arm,she recovers quickly just to realize they were already at the altar.
As she turned to face him fully she took time to look at the guests that had come,they were quite fewer than the number they had invited, looking at her family she could see smiles and encouragement. Afterward the vows were made but she couldn't feel anything but "let's be done with this soon"....

Elvis knew that he will lose her trust,but for how long. Even though he has married her nothing can prepare him for the kind of reaction Malvis will give because already he had been released once the vows were said.

He was supposed to be happy and excited,but he knew alot lies ahead,but come what may he will conquer them all. There wasn't a  reception persay but   for the friends and invited guests,they were given a gift bag loaded with enough to compensate for the lack of a proper reception.

Finally alone together in the house, Sofia asks bluntly why he had been in Malvis place.

Before he could respond, Malvis strolls out of the guest room still wearing his wedding outfit, looking every inch a boss. Shocked, Sofia looks from Elvis to Malvis and back again to Elvis,

" Congratulations,Elvis. Malvis says with so much mockery and bitterness. He wasn't smiling,not wanting the later to respond further. He walks up to Sofia and gently holds her hands looking into her eyes she couldn't look into his eyes she couldn't say anything. As she proceeds to remove her hands he holds them firmly.

"Your dearest brother,had me gagged up and tied up on this wedding day of ours. Ruthlessly had be beaten up all by himself,he also had the full support of his family and friends,"chuckling wickedly he looks up to Elvis not minding the fierce look directed to him,he continued to fill Sofia's ears with his nonsense.

Proceeding to leave her hands ,she almost collapses on the sofa close to her.

"Love,his reasons were accusing. He had told me if I don't refuse to be married to you he was going to have me arrested for false business transactions.

Sofia,love you know me so well that I wouldn't do such. I pleaded with Elvis,I begged him but he turned my pleas on deaf ears. Ruthlessly,he dragged me out early hours of this morning. Gush! He flared up as he proceeded to deliver a deadly punch on Elvis face.

Taking the blow without any reaction, Elvis just heard Sofia scream.

She pleading with Malvis to stop spewing nonsense from his mouth.

No Malvis continued to say all that he had fabricated. While Elvis nursed his wound Sofia just looks at him and shuts her eyes as though trying to wad off all that she has just heard.

But it was too late, she has so much trust for Malvis moreover he is the love of her life and not him.

Withholding the tears that we're about to drop, he proceeds to walk out of the scene. " Is it true,all I just heard is it true Elvis?

For the first time she called him by his name,all this years it had been brother and sir. But it wasn't with love,it had doubt,frustration and anxiety, as he continued to go she hurts him further.

"Yes,we are married and I am your wife but my heart will always belong to him,coming closer to him. Her eyes were lined with disappointment and anger well controlled.

"But I must let you know that I will always love Malvis now and forever. Thank you for proving to me that you were never involved in insuring my happiness,thank you for pretending that you cared,thank you for... everything she concluded admist controlled tears.

But just know that I only married you in name only. With that she walked out of the scene straight to one of the bedrooms.
Before leaving he looks at Malvis who just smiled wickedly and said this is just the beginning,before getting up and leaving the house. Elvis could hear Sofia's heavy sobs as he retired to his room.

ONE MONTH LATER.
        
      
Sofia has settled down very well into married life although theirs hasn't been a "proper marriage" between  Elvis  and herself. He was still her boss,they flowed very well in the office,she had been promoted to the position of chief secretary and she now has access to every vital information in Trinity Company, there has been tremendous growth, a stable income.

Malvis was still in partnership with their company but it was ending soon and as husband and wife, hmmm she only cooks, clean, laundry,shared greetings,went to church together, visited his family  and that was it. She couldn't bring herself to trust anyone of them after what happened a month ago.

Martha and Livinus were still  around, and visited quite often. But she couldn't forget what she saw earlier today, she decided to prepare lunch for Elvis despite how too formal and rigid their relationship was. On getting to his office she could hear him laugh just like the other time, but she proceeded to enter moreover they were married.

Martha, was too close for comfort with him at the sofa. They were so engrossed looking at the computer screen having headphones across their ears that they didn't even know when she entered.

Martha looked quite beautiful today, as her pregnancy kept progressing, her baby  bump wasn't looking so small like the first time they met. But Sofia felt a bit taken aback with the glowing smile on Elvis face as he continued to look at Martha. It has been so long since he smiled at her like that.

As she dropped the lunch bag on the table she proceeded to leave unnoticed and that was when Malvis came in as well, but they continued with what they were doing. At that moment, Malvis looked at Sofia and he could tell that she was jealous that didn't please him at all.
