Stunned and excited all at once with what he had just said, Sofia tries to hide those feelings for fear of Malvis changing his mind. To cover it up, she asks him what he meant by him coming over to make known his intentions.
Sure of her emotions Malvis ensures to use them wisely to his advantage.
Propose marriage to her and then gradually win Elvis trust as soon as possible. Wearing a smile outwardly with a different reason he assures her once more of what he had earlier said.
With that she embraced him with gratitude all the while Malvis releases a mischievous grin.
True to his words, he began asking her for the convenient time to meet with the family. And what he should do and not do. He tried so hard to be the best he could be around Elvis eliminating any doubt he might have towards him.
Not long their supposed friendship grew and sooner than later memories of what Elvis did fueled him to plan more cruel things to do. All the while growing with jealousy and contempt towards the depth of Elvis love for Sofia displayed in full view despite the lady not knowing.
A MONTH LATER
Every Fridays the Chukwuma's spend their day at home. Chatting, watching the television and just having a swell time from a very busy week.
Until the door bell rang, at that point they wondered who it could be since they don't receive visitors on such days. Going to answer the door was Sofia to her surprise and pleasure it was Malvis.
Allowing him in wasn't an issue anymore because the family have come to accept him as a friend of hers
and a business partner to Elvis as well as a friend too.
Coming this day was a strategic plan he had concorted, appropriate to see the look of pain on Elvis face. As he grew to gain his trust he also took notice of little things that mattered to the family. He purposely kept it from Sofia so that she wouldn't ruin the effect he wants to have on Elvis.
At that moment he was received he didn't see Elvis but he was certain that he was around somewhere in the house. After greeting the elders and giving well constructed answers to their questions.
Not long Elvis comes downstairs after a housekeeper had gone to call him. Relaxed and ready to execute his plan he turns towards Dr. Elijah and Charlotte who were seated together at the other side of the settee.
But his gaze was directed towards Elvis who was coincidentally sitting with Sofia on the same sofa.
" I have come with a marriage intention for your daughter, Sofia".
