LOVE SO PASSION

CHAPTER 25

           
Grateful to God that she knew where Martha and her husband lived, she first decided to go see her parents-in-law. Yes, they may not be her birth parents but they have given her life and hope.

They took her in and made her who she is at this very point in her life. Even though they had married her into their family without her consent, without seeking her very own opinion it still hurts though that they  could keep a secret as such from her.

The past love affair between Elvis and Martha,yes no wonder they kept whispering anytime they spoke about Martha. No wonder Elvis kept smiling each time her name was on his lips.

She felt hurt again. But she is yet to really understand the meaning of these emotions she keeps having whenever she sees them together, whenever she is around him. Parking her car alongside the road on a safe spot she lays down her head on the steering of the car overwhelmed with so much emotions she breaks into tears.

She still loves Malvis, she wouldn't deny the fact that she enjoyed the kiss last night. They had almost gone all the way last night,they had kissed so passionately like it was their last. She could feel the love Malvis had for her,but not anymore.

She is a married woman, despite all that has happened no matter what the outcome of the truth will be she will remain married to Elvis. Even though it will hurt her and  Malvis she will always respect and care for Elvis. Glad they had broken up she makes up her mind to be very careful and wary of his presence.

After a while she wipes her face and composes herself. Changing her mind she drives to Martha's place.

Martha was surprised to see Sofia at her doorstep. She wasn't uncomfortable to see her,Sofia noticed. She came in and was ready to get straight to the point.

After she has settled in and Martha had played a good host. She didn't hesitate to ask Martha point blank and once more what sort of relationship she and Elvis shared.

Looking closely at her to see if she will find any dubious emotion, but she could find none. There was truth and confidence in this conversation.

Martha still repeated what she had said weeks ago,she stated once more that the relationship she shares with Elvis was a beautiful platonic friendship between on trust, honesty and goodness.

Not satisfied enough,Sofia asked her if she was ever in a relationship with Elvis in the past.

Martha looked at her before saying  "Elvis and I have never been in that sort of relationship you are thinking about. Elvis has never been in a relationship. You are the very first woman who had gotten close to him.

But am concerned about your reason for asking this question?"she concluded while watching Sofia closely.

Sofia couldn't maintain the gaze Martha gave her at that moment, also she was surprised at all she had just heard from Martha,Sofia begins to wonder if all that Malvis had told her last night were all lies birthed from jealousy and anger at the outcome of everything that happened over a month ago.

Knowing fully well that Martha was expecting an answer to her question she decided to ask her from a different perspective.

" Do you know what sort of friendship Don Malvis had with Elvis in school? Martha wasn't expecting such her countenance changed to one of shock and irritation,like she wasn't expecting to hear such name from her mouth.

"No,Don Malvis never had a friendship with your husband. They were never friends.

They were never ever friends she said with emphasis.

She spoke as though the name Malvis was bitter in her mouth. Not wanting to provoke her owning to her fragile state.

Sofia places her hand on Martha's hand to apologise for asking such question, Martha responded that it was okay. But then at that moment she said something that stuck like glue to her ears.

" Dont believe everything that Malvis tells you about your husband,moreover I will never want to ruin your marriage.

I love Livinus so much that I wouldn't do anything to hurt him in anyway.

Taking hold of Sofia's hand as an elder sister would,she proceeds to tell Sofia the truth but the full story.

She wasn't in the best position to tell her what she was about to say but she will anyway reveal the side that will make her feel the truth from the right source.  Still eager to hear whatever Martha wanted to say Sofia looks at her with curious eyes and a little anxiety.

" Don Malvis is my ex-fiance".

Driving home few minutes later after hearing that huge truth Sofia was filled with betrayal and pain. Why would Malvis have kept such piece of information from her all these years.

She also got to know that Martha was that one time friend that sent her a parcel through Elvis way back then when she was in school during her junior secondary school exams.
How could she have just thought ill of Martha.

It had been plain as day since she meet her that she was madly, deeply in love and devoted to her husband, Livinus.

Yes he has wealth and connections also a prominent doctor,handsome,caring but there's no way she sees Martha ever cheating on him with another.

She has watched them closely,she had at one time caught them in a very intimate manner and it was real love she saw and felt.

She found herself in the family house proceeding to knock on the door she was welcomed in by Charlotte.

Her mother-in-law looks so beautiful and peaceful this evening. 

Concerned with the look on her face,

Charlotte was quick to embrace Sofia who couldn't control the fresh tears that were pouring out of her eyes.
