LOVE SO PASSION

CHAPTER 4

      

All these while Malvis had travelled to the far past, despite the deep conversation Elvis was having with him.  He confidently and boldly responded because he had prepared earnestly and eagerly for this day. When Sofia had told him all about Elvis sometime back he immediately knew who he was... He had strategically plotted and he will deliver each blow in a manner that would reck pain and regret for the entire CHUKWUMA'S.  
             
                 

He couldn't ignore the sight he beheld when he sighted the two of them earlier. The care, love and purity of passion exuding from his eyes towards her. Yes, Sofia was in love with him but he knows he doesn't love her in the purity and passion that Elvis had. In other to quench his temper he had walked towards them to interrupt their"sweet" conversation. 

Only for the "Almighty, arrogant"man to stand up and extend his hands for a greeting. He felt powerful and so assured that he will indeed ruin him now the cards were his to play.  To avoid suspicions and unwanted questions from Sofia he accepted his outstretched had. And thus begun the conversation,  before now he had made sure that his relationship with Sofia was a secret from her adoptive family.

He knew the story of how she became part of the family, though he has a hard heart he couldn't believe such people and manner of kindness existed. But he already has ill intentions for the supposed family and he will ensure nothing stops him from doing what he has in mind.

                 

After their introduction and the party coming to an end. Every well wisher bids the CHUKWUMA'S goodbye.  Finally having time to themselves, Elvis meets Sofia in the kitchen, dressed in a pink night gown with a long flannel and hair bonnet on her head with her hair inside.

When he enters she was busy making tea for his parents who he passed engrossed in an intimate conversation that they didn't even notice him pass by.  Standing at the door he takes time to admire her and really appreciate the fact that she was no longer the little girl he has grown to love so much and unconditionally. 

Still busy without noticing him until she picks the tray to go into the sitting room.  

Startled she smiles a little before dropping the tray to ask if he needed anything, taking a step closer towards her she looks up at him and he feels his heart tug a bit at the beauty he beholds.

Now he sees the colour of her eyes, the beautiful curve of her brows and her lips, the dimple more prominent and deep.

Having no words they just stare into each others eyes, until someone clears their throat breaking the moment, looking behind he sees his parents. Smiling broadly and full of joy they both come in, "I was wondering why the tea hasn't arrived", Charlotte speaks first while smiling and looking up at the two young people. 

 
Adding up to her statement, Elijah says" maybe we should just take our tea ourselves and give them room to discuss", moreover they have a lot to catch up on" he concludes as they both quickly picked up their cups while Sofia was trying to  stop them.    

After they had left, Elvis smiles as he apologizes for taking her time, "No, it's nothing.. they are right we have a lot to catch up with," she says.  
        

Taking some more time in the kitchen seated on the mini dinning at it's center,they both told stories about their times spent apart.

But they kept their little secrets, Elvis' ardent and still burning affections for Sofia and Sofia's secret relationship with Malvis.

            
                       

By morning,the whole family got ready for the handover ceremony of the current  CEO,Dr. Elijah to the new CEO his only heir and child, Elvis. Due to some unknown reasons Charlotte couldn't conceive for years.

She had gone through criticism,mockery and jest because she couldn't conceive but one thing kept her going strong,her husband's unfailing love and unwavering support. 

It was 10 years into their marriage that she conceived and bore ELVIS. 

Their joy knew no bounds,his birth brought tremendous blessings to their families ,reconciliation of her now late parents and parents-in-law, who had turned their backs on the two of them when they had refused unorthodox means to conceive.     

That little bundle of joy has made them proud over the years to this day.  And he is deserving of the position bestowed upon him. He  doesn't know yet,but his parents had told Sofia so that she could prepare and be in the office earlier.  
         

All dressed he noticed that Sofia wasn't in their midst, so he asked.."Where is Sofia,mum..."   "My dear,she left earlier to the office this morning,"she replied.
  

" I hope all is well,he added with concern. "All is well my son",she needed to go tidy up some documents that we couldn't complete before we went for the mini holidays"Elijah assures him,while  giving his wife a knowing smile.
   

A little bit tensed Sofia sits at the expanse lobby of "TRINITY COMPANY". 

The CHUKWUMA'S are the  wealthiest family in the whole of the society they lived in. She will always remain grateful to them for the act of kindness shown to her.

And today,she will begin a new phase of life, she will now be the secretary to her"brother" although she has always called him that,she never feels that way with him.

Although no romantic feelings she respects and appreciate all he had done for her all the way from the past.

She can't deny the feeling she felt yesternight when they looked into each other's eyes,she couldn't name the feelings she saw in his eyes but she can't also deny that it was"love" as well.

Lost in thought she didn't know that everyone in the lobby had stood up to welcome the family,until she felt a warm palm on her shoulder.

Looking up she meets his eyes,so captivating were they in black orbs that she took a while to remember this wasn't a dream or replay of last night but the reality of the arrival of the new CEO.

  Gathering her senses she stands up to the bright smiling faces of her"family" and her well wishers. Looking at Elvis again she admires his tall frame in a navy blue suit and a pair of black shoes... smiling back at him.

They all walk into the conference hall for the handover ceremony,over within thirty minutes, Sofia receives Elvis handshake as they both look anticipated for what the future holds for them.
