LOVE SO PASSION

CHAPTER 24

 Wondering why Sofia had ignored his calls, he wasn't at rest. Because the rain was still pouring heavily outside and it was very late already.

He had come back from work and saw her car parked at the garage he had asked the elderly woman who always came around in the mornings to help in cleaning the house on weekdays and leaves by evenings.

She had replied that madam had gone out to see a friend. But that was about four hours ago exactly 5:00pm but now it's almost 10:00pm and she wasn't back. This wasn't right,after a while he had gone to his office room to carry out some work.

           

  Not too long he heard a knock on the front door, rushing out of his office before the next knock he eventually opened the door. Sofia was drenched and he wasn't ready to question her on her whereabouts but he was quick to take her hand to bring her in away from the cold.

But Sofia did the unexpected,she pulled her hand away and walked into the house without a greeting. It was an act that pricked Elvis in the heart. But that didn't stop him from caring for her,he just went straight to the kitchen and boiled some water and made a mug of hot Milo for her. When he knocked on her door,she took a long time to open the door but when she did she just looked at him with a far away look.

She practically avoided his eyes too. Elvis just handed the mug to her and bided her goodnight he didn't want to ask her questions with the current mood she was in.

Sofia couldn't explain how she felt but she felt guilty. She had kissed another man as a married woman. At the same time a stubborn voice kept reminding her of all that Malvis told her tonight, she couldn't forget it all. Moreover he was the man she loves and was supposed to be married too.

Looking at the mug that Elvis gave her only made her feel horrible. For God's sake he has been so good, kind, attentive but "untruthful and deceptive" the voice countered.

How will she sleep tonight, knowing deep down what she has done. In all rightness she couldn't bring herself to forget all that happened tonight,the kiss only made her feel horrible. Rolling to a ball on the other side of her bed,she cries herself to sleep.

Malvis was on cloud nine the next morning as he went to work. But he wasn't expecting Sofia who was already seated in his office. He went close to her to kiss her when she suddenly stood up to avoid it. Surprised but not deterred he proceeded to help her stand up. Getting up,she quickly removed his hands from her shoulders.

" I don't understand why you lead us to  do what we did last night.  Yes, Elvis didn't do well by keeping all that you told me last night but still.

You shouldn't have kissed me,she concluded with mixed expressions.

Malvis didn't like this turnout one bit. He was expecting her to be happy about the kiss they shared and not feel guilty about it. He won't back down not now.

Taking a step further he moves too close for comfort towards her, lifting her chin up.

He looked into her eyes to kiss her again but she quickly removed her face and walks out of the office. But before that she said what he was never expecting from her.

"I know Elvis did wrong but you and I didn't do right either last night. I think it's high time I face my marriage squarely.

Closing her eyes firmly she breaks up with him,clearly stating the obvious that she was married.
At that point he was quick to stop her and pushed her to the wall, closing the door shut too.

"When I asked you the other day if you had become one flesh with him you didn't respond, but how come you are so quick to break up with me? If you two haven't consummated the marriage then you can file for an anullment so we can be together, he sounded so desperate,annoyed and angry but he kept the later in check and controlled.

No he wasn't going to let Elvis win this time. He wasn't going to let Martha,Elvis or anyone tell Sofia about his past.

He loves her even though she's only a pawn in his game to ruin Elvis.

He saw her struggle to fathom all he has said but then he could clearly see that she wasn't  going back on her word. Releasing her when she felt uncomfortable and didn't respond to his questions.

"Do you love him? have you so suddenly fallen in love with him?is it because he has more money, prestige and power than I" he spewed them out without holding back.

" Since he returned,you changed. You have always yearned his presence and company, you were quick to "neglect" our relationship. You put him first. You were so engrossed in everything that partains to that family that took you away from me!" He finished with a shout.

Taking it all in,Sofia grabbed the one question he asked,if she had fallen in love with Elvis.

Her heart had skipped. She took in everything he said she felt bad but no  this has to stop. She will not ruin her husband's name. Yes it was a kiss but if she continues who knows what will happen next between Malvis  and her.

Right now she needs answers to every question and she knows were to find them.

Before leaving she made her decision again loud and clear but she tried to hold back her tears, looking towards his direction and into his eyes she was grateful for the safe distance between them.

" Don Malvis it's over between you and I, am no longer yours. I belong to Elvis Chukwuma my husband,"with that she left leaving a raging Malvis behind.
