Back in the hall. Zheoyon and Longinus were still talking to each other, and Vermilion chimed in occasionally.
"Have you seen any of the others recently?"
"I haven't. I assume all of them have been busy committing to their responsibilities, all of which is honorable work that garners them plenty of praise. Because of everyone, peace in the world has been maintained, and we've never been better off."
"I'm not disagreeing... But with that said, don't you think that it's odd none of them have visited you recently? Alpha and I are likely your favorite sons, but that doesn't excuse them from coming to pay you a visit."
Vermilion folded her arms.
"Maybe they're jealous? You and Alpha are his favorite sons, and the ones most like him out of all of the Longinus Covenants."
"Alpha is the one most like Father," Zheoyon turned to Vermilion. "Their shared will to dominate Sol and have things their way for the sake of eternal peace makes them very similar to each other. On the other hand, I'm just happy to have the things I have, and I don't desire anything else as long as things remain the same."
No doubt.
Alpha was and is the closest person to Longinus. No one else shared the same desires those two did to dominate the world and force it to be their way. Solteer would be the next closest covenant to Longinus.
"You are one of my favorite sons for having that perspective, Zheoyon, and because of you, the endless peace has been maintained. You are one of the pillars that hold this world together. Never forget that."
"I'm not doubting you, but I've wondered at times how important I really have been in comparison with some of the others. Defiance? There's no one who defies the way this world is. Everyone else has an active role in maintaining this kingdom, and I am the only one who has to sit here and wait for something to happen."
"You will be the one who fixes Sol if it ever breaks away from the pathway it's been given. That's an important responsibility to have, Zheoyon, and that alone makes you just as important - if not more important - with Alpha and the rest."
"I'm not so sure... but..."
He sighed.
"Back to what we were talking about earlier. I don't like how none of the others have come to visit you. What is keeping them so busy? All Laplace does is keep time advancing. Why can't he come and visit?"
....For the record...I was doing more than that at this time, and there was a really good reason why I didn't come to visit Longinus as much as I could've.
"Schepper is obviously very busy with creating and all, so I can't blame him for not visiting. Lamia has nothing better to do other than sitting in his chair and watching paint dry all day. Solteer's busy just as much as Schepper is, but he can make time in his schedule to come and visit you. If he says he can't, he'd be lying."
"I've never asked my children to come and visit me all the time. Just knowing that they are doing good in the world is more than enough for me, but I appreciate your concern."
"And that isn't a good enough excuse for them. Just because you didn't ask for them to come and visit you all the time doesn't mean they can not see you at all! Oh... how could I forget? What about Deus? Why isn't he coming around - he literally does nothing."
"The Salvation Covenant? Isn't he the strange one...? Probably best he stays away if he is..." Vermilion mentions.
"Outside of me and Alpha, every covenant has a weird personality."
