Alpha opened his eyes. Lying flat on ground composed of sand, he was looking up at the sky.
A deep blue sky with shining bright stars was above him. Everything around him was mostly quiet, but he was able to hear the sound of waves hitting the shores.
He raised his right hand up from the sand and held it in front of his face. His vision was blurry at first, but slowly it focused and within seconds his vision was clear.
"Where am I?"
Where was he?
That's a good question.
Things got a little strange for Alpha around this time. One moment he was standing in the road belonging to the burning Inquisition mansion, and the next moment he was standing on a beach that was seemingly located in the middle of nowhere.
What happened? Why was he here?
To answer that question; Alpha was no longer in Sol.
He was in an entirely different dimension from the one home to Sol, and the rest of everything else. At this moment, he was in a world where there were no buildings, no people, no laws, no ethics. Basically, there was nothing.
Not many people are capable of pulling someone out from a dimension they were in, and not many were able to make an entirely new one.
"You were separated from Sol, Alpha."
Alpha heard a voice speak to him from behind. He slowly stood up while he turned to the voice.
"Char..."
He stopped himself from finishing the name. He remembered that Charlotte was not who he thought she was, and he then remembered everything that happened with her.
His eyes narrowed as Excalibur flamed into existence within his right hand. Seeing that the woman standing in front of him was apparently not Charlotte and someone else, he didn't want to take any chances.
"Who are you? What do you want?"
The woman he saw was Saiya.
She took a few steps closer to him as she looked down at Excalibur. While she got closer than she was before, she still maintained a little distance because Alpha armed himself, and seemingly she was prepared for the worst to come.
However, I'm not entirely sure she was prepared for the worst to come. Coming into this, Saiya had high expectations of herself when it came to dealing with him, and she fully believed that she would succeed. She didn't have a single drop of doubt in her.
"You won't be needing Excalibur. I pose no threat to you."
What gave her confidence?
I'm not so sure about that.
"From what I just witnessed in the Domains, Excalibur will very likely be needed when dealing with you. Although I probably won't be needing it if you do attack me, I'd like to have it on me and ready - just in case."
"You'll be needing Excalibur, but you won't be using it against me."
"Prove it."
Alpha challenged Saiya, and she answered it.
She took a few more steps towards him until she was standing at arm's length. She then held up her left arm and stuck out her left hand, showing her pale white fingers.
Nothing special about the fingers themselves, but there was something attached to one of them.
A silver ring was on her ring finger.
