"Alright Ria, I need you for sandwiches today, Leanne you're going to take care of the vegetables and Jenna you'll be with me. I put a list of all the things I need you to do before lunch at your stations." I ordered, trying to keep my emotions in check. I was not there to be friends with them and if they felt that my poor life choices were up for debate then I planned on letting them debate it on their own time. As soon as lunch was done I left the kitchen and let those girls clean up. I was done being nice and charitable with them.
I went to my cabin where Gabriel was working on his laptop, his hair standing on ends, he had clearly been pulling at the roots in frustration. He looked up at me curiously as I entered the cabin. I walked over to him and sat on his lap smoothing out his disheveled hair, planting kisses along his jawline.
"Baby," he groaned, his hands working their way down to my bottom.
"Do you have time for a quick swim?" I whispered in his ear.
"I had something else in mind," he replied huskily.
"I bet you do, but I was really going to go to the river for a swim" I said with a kiss on his nose. I got out of his lap and stripped off my clothes, searching for my swimming trunks in my unpacked bag. A sudden sharp pain flared up on my butt cheek as Gabriel stood behind me, eyes dark and lustfull. "Ouch" I whined, rubbing my back side.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you, but you're a world class tease" he bent down to kiss my neck as his hands ran up and down my body.
"Uhhhh... boss?" One of the men said, his eyes lingering on my bare chest a moment before looking away quickly.
"OUT!" Gabriel barked as I yelped trying to cover myself. The man's face flushed in embarrassment as he quickly left the cabin. "Fucking hell" Gabriel cursed. I quickly put on my swimming suit and covered up with a T-Shirt as several more visitors arrived. "I forgot I was expecting company for a moment, I'll meet you down by the river when I'm done. If you're still there" he said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
I made my way down to the river, settling into the place with a large towel, a book and my water bottle. I read a few chapters while basking in the warmth of the sun, and while I figured Gabriel's meeting had gone longer than expected I had a quick dip before heading back to the cabin. Gabe was nowhere in sight when I arrived, disappointed I took a quick shower and returned to work.
The girls were chatting amongst themselves as they did their chores while I was completely concentrating on my job. It was easy for me to zone out and tune everyone out when I was in the kitchen. I was trying out a new dish for supper as this crew seemed open to trying new things. I knew it would either be a hit or a miss, curry was not for everyone, but I was sure that this mild gravy would go over well with the majority of the staff. I knew Gabriel would love it as he was a big fan of Asian food.
I was carrying Gabriel and my supper out to our cabin when he hurried into his truck and called for me to join him.
"What about supper?" I asked sadly looking at the delicious steaming food.
"I guess we can eat first," he said as he eyed the curry. He wolfed his food down quickly before returning to his truck. I finished my plate and left it with his on the steps of the cabin.
"Where are we going in such a hurry?" I asked, worried about his behavior.
"I want to show you something," he said with a playful grin. We drove out of the campsite and towards the coast. The sun was setting and casting an orange glow in the sky when Gabriel finally pulled up to a wooded lot in the middle of nowhere. He looked at me expectantly but I had no idea what I was meant to be looking at. "We are going to build a house here next spring" he announced. I gasped as my eyes widened in shock.
