I watched the people milling about from the dining room window, there were 30 or so people waiting in the backyard while rock music played on. I couldn't see Gabriel from where I was standing but I could just imagine what he looked like in an outfit similar to Hendrix's. I could hardly contain my excitement at seeing him.
I admired Lane's beautiful set up and hoped it wasn't going to rain, as the skies were grey with clouds. Lane had strategically hung white sheer linen in some of the trees and placed lanterns as decorations. There were rows of white chairs occupied by the guests and white flower petals down the would-be aisle. I spotted a makeshift bar with huge 'Beer and Whiskey' signs hanging above it and laughed. Of course Gabriel would make sure the guests were well 'watered'. The backyard had a very magical feeling about it.
Lane, Chrissy and Hendrix had gone out to tell everyone we were ready to start. The music suddenly changed to a cover of Canon by Paschbel and I took this as my cue to walk down the aisle. As soon as I stepped outside with Emily in my arms, everyone stood up and the classical song turned rock with a prominent guitar solo. I couldn't help the laughter that escaped me at the sudden change. Of course Gabriel would not be caught dead listening to classical music. I stepped off the deck smiling at the guests sitting at the back when I finally spotted Gabriel. My breath caught as I admired how beautiful he looked, it was even better than what I had imagined. He could pull off button down shirts like no one else, but the tucked in shirt with the suspenders and bow tie was something else. My eyes filled with happy tears as he met me halfway down the aisle and took Emily from me.
"Hello my little flower" he cooed, kissing her forehead before placing Emily in my mother's arms. He turned to me and wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my neck. I placed my hands on his shoulders as he simply nuzzled into my neck. He took a deep breath then walked me down the rest of the aisle. There was not a single dry eye in the backyard just then as we stood facing each other, holding hands in front of our family and friends, unable to tear our gaze away from each other.
"My god, you're beautiful!" Gabriel exclaimed, running a palm over his eyes. A mixture of 'awws' and laughter filled the crowd of onlookers.
Matteo stood as officiant for the ceremony which passed by in a blur. I was lost in Gabriel's brown eyes and had to be prompted a second time to say 'I do' after Matteo had gone over my vows. Everyone chuckled at my absentmindedness.
"I really fucking do!" I repeated, earning an ear splitting grin from my handsome man.
"I really fucking do too" he replied when it was his time. I slid the ring onto Gabriel's finger when Matteo announced that we could kiss. Gabriel didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around me and capture my mouth with his before dipping me and deepening our kiss. Whistles and shouts from the crowd reached my ears and did nothing to stop the feeling of desire that pooled between my legs, I groaned out of frustration that our marriage would not be consummated for a few more weeks still, but I knew Gabriel would make up for it in other ways.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to present to you Mr and Mrs Mason" Matteo announced though Gabriel and I were still lip locked. Everyone cheered and I heard my little baby cry out in fright. We broke away from each other, Gabriel righting me as my mom handed Emily over to us. We walked down the aisle into the house while Matteo announced the bar was open and the newlyweds would be back shortly.
As soon as we entered our bedroom I stepped out of my dress and laid down on the bed to feed Emily. Gabriel watched us almost in a trance.
"Are you ok, Gabe?" I asked, concerned.
"More than okay, my god Harp you are perfect, you know that?" He laid behind me kissing my neck and caressing my hips and belly. "I love you" he whispered behind my shoulder. "Thank you for changing my life like this, I never imagined I could ever be so happy" he nipped at my neck and shoulders, sending chills down my spine.
