My Regrets (Ran Mitake x Male Reader)

Chapter 15

*(Y/N)'s POV*

It had been a few days since the little celebration party at CiRCLE. I woke up a little earlier than usual and assumed, Ran was still asleep. So I decided to head out alone to work. When I was about to open the door, I heard Mr. Mitake called out to me.

(Mr. Mitake): (Y/N).

(Y/N): Mr. Mitake. What is it?

As I turned around, he handed me a pack of lunch.

(Mr. Mitake): I should've made this for you when you first started working. Sorry about that, (Y/N).

(Y/N): Oh, no. I was just surprised is all. Thanks, Mr. Mitake.

(Mr. Mitake): You're welcome. 

As I took the pack of lunch and looked at Mr. Mitake when all of a sudden, I saw my father right in front of me. I was shocked wondering why he was there? What's going on? After a few seconds, I blinked and Mr. Mitake was now in front of me again.

(Mr. Mitake): Hey (Y/N), you ok? You suddenly went pale.

(Y/N): D-don't worry I'm fine. I-I should get going now, I'll see you later.

I left the house leaving Mr. Mitake in a confused state about what just happened. To be honest, I don't even have a clue myself.

*Mr. Mitake's POV*

As (Y/N) left the house, I heard footsteps coming from upstairs. I took look to see that it was, Ran.

(Ran): Was that, (Y/N) who just left?

(Mr. Mitake): Yeah it was. Were you planning to walk with him?

(Ran): N-no, I'm fine with walking by myself.

(Mr. Mitake): Heh, if you say so.

Poor Ran can be a little troublesome sometimes. I sighed to myself of what just happened earlier. Ran apparently took notice of this.

(Ran): Is something wrong?

(Mr. Mitake): Oh, it's nothing. I was having a little conversation with, (Y/N) earlier, but he left off in a hurry. For some reason though, I kind of have a feeling that he's avoiding me.

(Ran): Why is that?

(Mr. Mitake): Don't worry about it, Ran. It's just a feeling, so I'm sure will go away with time.

(Ran): Alright, if you say so.

I'd say that, but I have an idea why he's avoiding me. (Y/N)'s mother, (Mrs. L/N) told me about what happened with his father, and the reason why she wanted me to take him in in the first place. I should keep this to myself for now. Ran doesn't need to know this yet, I just hope this doesn't get any worse.
