"So what am I looking at?" Zed asked.

She wiped at the smudge that her pencil left on her fingers. Ever since they came back from their angel encounter, there were all these images in her head that she felt compelled to draw.

A side effect from touching an angel's heart, according to John. The urge to continue drawing was strong, even now when Jade claimed she had something to show her.

"Just keep your eyes on the water, okay?" Jade insisted.

Zed hummed in agreement as her friend eagerly turned to the bowl placed strategically on a table nearby.

Jade put her hands behind her back as she focused on the water. Her mind thought of the weight, the shape and the feeling of it. Without Jade moving her hands, a steady stream of water rose in the air.

It broke off into multiple ones as Zed stared in wonder. A delighted laugh left her lips and Jade turned to her with a smile. As soon as she did though, the water fell down splashing the two of them.

Jade giggled at the state of them and Zed couldn't help her own grin. Despite being lightly rained on, her friend's excitement was contagious. It was the first time she's seen her smile since they got back.

"It's a work in progress." Jade said.

Zed nodded before biting her lip. As wonderful as it was to witness Jade's progress, it also worried her. With every new trick she learnt, the more they tired her out.

She didn't want her overdoing it and causing permanent damage of some sort. It was just all happening so fast.

"Just don't strain yourself too much, okay? You're still recovering from fighting a literal angel."

Jade's expression hardened. "It wasn't me who defeated her. Next time I gotta be ready."

The determined look on her face made Zed frown. No one mentioned the fact that Jade was right on their way back. Imogen was an untrustworthy angel, one that fell from heaven for killing a mortal.

How Jade knew that was still a mystery. One that John Constantine refused to acknowledge at all and Jade stayed content not discussing it anymore.

"I'm gonna tell John to come see your magic trick. Better prepare."

Jade smiled as her friend left the room and descended down the stairs. Staying at John's place wasn't part of their plan but it was necessary until they recovered.

Yet she couldn't sit still after it. All of her was buzzing with newfound eagerness. Getting rid of Imogen put her in a great mood. It pushed her to practice more, focus on improving her levitation skills with just her mind.

"Who summons the great John Constantine?"

John could feel Jade rolling her eyes without even seeing the front of her. It was her usual reaction to anything outlandish that he said or did.

Yet as she turned around with an amused smile on her face, he decided that he'd take that over an eye roll any day.

"I think calling yourself great is kind of overkill." she commented.

He shrugged nonchalantly and she fought the urge to smile even wider. It was moments like these that made her heart speed up and made her question the reasoning behind it.

Deep down, she knew why her heart did what it did. Yet she pushed those thoughts down in a way that felt similar to how she tried to control her powers.

"Doesn't change my question though," John tilted his head, "what is it?"

Jade bit her lip before putting her hands behind her back. What she showed to Zed was warmup.
