Jade walked in the darkness, each corner seeming more void of light than the other. It was disheartening, to say the least. Yet she had hope John would save her.

She wasn't stupid, it was pretty obvious her soul got snatched. Just like Geraldine's. There was nothing to do but wait. Yet as she stepped forward, she felt the ground beneath her crack.

The crunching sound felt loud and ominous in the silence that consumed her senses. She went to move away from it, but an even worse one appeared.

Her curiosity peaked, she crouched down to inspect it. With the tips of her fingertips she followed the biggest crack until its centre. The familiar warmth of her powers awakening surged as she pressed on it.

The reaction was almost instantaneous. A loud sound filled the darkness, almost like the boom of thunder, as the ground beneath her trembled.

"Never before have I encountered a soul as unstable as yours."

The voice spoke into the darkness. Jade remembered it from the seance with the medium. "Who are you?"

She looked around but there was still nothing there. Wherever there even was. Jade wondered if she could find Geraldine in here if she really tried.

"Felix Faust," the voice said, "but I have no idea who or what you are."

The name didn't ring a bell. The only reason she asked was because John always did, like it mattered. Maybe if she could find a way out of this hellhole, she could tell him and help out Chas in the process.

"I am not fond of sharing personal information with people that kidnap my soul." Jade argued.

He hummed. "And what a peculiar soul it is, it's intertwined with psychic matter that I've never seen before."

Her head abruptly moved towards the sound of his voice. This Felix Faust has just revealed brand new information to her. As she got up, she contemplated the pros and cons of telling him more about it.

In the end, she couldn't help herself. John is good at training her but he has never been good with answering questions, especially about her powers' origin.

"I have powers, telekinesis. John Constantine said it's the ability to use psychic energy to manipulate the elements." she said.

Zed navigated the psychic network, Jade siphoned it, according to John. Every word John Constantine has ever said about their powers, she has absorbed like a sponge.

"This is no ability, darling. Your soul is part psychic matter or energy or whatever you want to call it. No human soul is like that. It's what makes you so powerful, so... unstable." Felix explained.

Her head was drowning with questions. Does that mean she's not human? Are her powers not human? What does any of that even mean for her?

But she decided on the most important question. "Is it dangerous? Am I dangerous?"

Her voice wavered a bit towards the end. She already knew what kind of damage she could cause. But hearing someone say her soul is unstable even when she's controlling her powers isn't comforting.

"It's... out of order. Psychic energy isn't just created and extinguished, it has a place. A network of sorts. Somewhere, somehow, it went into you. More specifically, your soul." Felix said to her.

Despite it being a statement, Jade could hear the uncertainty in his voice. Whatever she was, he was simply trying to sort through the puzzle pieces

"It's in me instead of being in its rightful place, which is why it's so difficult to control. It's trying to bring back balance." Jade said.
