Random objects flew around her sleeping form as she thrashed around in her bed. Sweat dripped down her forehead as her face twisted in pain. Nightmares plagued her mind and her powers activated against her will.

A cry escaped her lips alerting her roommate that something was wrong. As her roommate rushed through her friend's door, she stopped at the sight of the levitating objects.

No matter how many times she saw her friend's abilities, it never ceased to amaze her. Her feet carried her to the sleeping strawberry blonde and she shook her trying to get her awake.

"Wake up, Jade."

The strawberry blonde's eyes snapped open as she sat up gasping for air. Once she realized where she was, the objects fell down and she was able to regain control over her powers.

Heavy breaths left Jade's lips as her roommate watched her with worried eyes. It wasn't the first time her friend had nightmares like these, but she rarely saw her lose control.

"I'm sorry, Zed. You shouldn't have to witness this." Jade mumbled.

Her eyes closed as Zed held her hand and squeezed it in comfort. The two of them were no strangers to nightmares and unnatural abilities.

It was how Zed found her actually. She had a vision of Jade being in trouble and she saved her. They've been at each other's side since then.

"Hey, no judgment here. We all have our demons to fight." Zed stated.

Jade nodded although she still felt embarrassed by the fact this was the third time this month that her friend had to wake her from her nightmares. She removed the covers from her body feeling them stick to her body as she noticed the sun was already up.

"Why don't you go shower and I'll go grab us something to eat? I'll be back soon." Zed said.

Jade watched her friend grab her stuff and leave their temporary flat. A sigh left her lips as she got up and went straight for the shower. Her body welcomed the hot water washing over her as it allowed her muscles to finally relax.

Jade Phillips hadn't known about her powers for a long time, but it was still long enough for them to ruin every relationship she had. Not everyone was like Zed, not everyone could comprehend that there were people with strange abilities in this world.

Upon discovering her abilities, she stumbled upon a few nasty creatures who were attracted by her power. She, of course, didn't know that before. It was only after meeting Zed that she understood that the world she knew was gone and she had stepped into a brand new one.

As Jade finished her shower and got dressed, she went to the living room to see there were still dozens of Zed's sketches laying around. She picked one up and narrowed her eyes at the sight of creatures she hadn't seen before.

It wouldn't surprise her if they were all out there hunting her down. She sat down on the couch just as Zed came back. That was quicker than Jade anticipated.

"I met him, the man from my visions. His name is John Constantine. That's all I was able to find out but it's him, Jade." Zed rambled.

She picked up one of her drawings and handed it to Jade who looked confused at her friend's words. Her eyes flickered over the sketch to see a man in a trench coat smoking a cigarette.

He didn't particularly stand out to Jade, but she knew he meant something to Zed. She had been drawing him for weeks without stopping.

"Are you sure it was him? Maybe this John Constantine just looks similar to your drawings." Jade suggested.

"No, it was him. I'd recognize him anywhere. It must be fate, right? I mean, what are the chances of me just running into him?" Zed asked.

Jade bit her lip as she didn't want to burst her friend's bubble. This was the first time in months that she saw Zed genuinely excited about something.
