"Each one of these stigmata represents a place where something bad is going on. Supernatural brushfires, if you will. Me, Chas and a few others? We're the bucket brigade." John explained.

After briefly seeing John covered in blood trying to learn a new spell and Chas giving Zed and Jade a tour of the mill, they were gathered around a map with blood dots over it.

As John explained, each of them had a supernatural presence in them.

Jade knew there had to be a lot of demons around. She attracted a lot of them, being unnatural herself, but she never imagined this number of them. Her eyes flickered over to her family's city only to sigh in relief at the lack of blood around it.

"Is this your latest fire?" Zed asked.

She motioned at a newspaper next to the map. There had to be a reason for John to be showing this to her. Even though she's proved her worth, he still seemed more inclined to trust Jade than her.

"Bernie was a friend of mine. No way in hell he'd take his own life." John retorted.

"Doesn't mean his death was one of your stigmata." Zed argued.

She put emphasis on the word stigmata. It made Jade smile knowing that her friend was lowkey challenging John. Testing out which boundaries she can cross and which should be left alone.

"Bernie lived in the Windy City. And I don't believe in coincidences. Go on then. See if you get a hit."

Zed listened to John's words letting her hands touch the map and the newspaper. Her vision engulfed her almost immediately. Flowers were slowly falling down from the sky.

"I smell Jasmine." She said before turning around and finding herself in a field of them. No one else could see what she was seeing.

"She's a regular psychic smorgasbord, this one. Picks up impressions from tactile stimuli. Which I'm guessing is kind of a buzzkill in the sack." John explained to Chas.

Jade smacked John's shoulder as he winced at her action. "Can you focus?"

John smirked at her before turning to Chas who was looking at them with narrowed eyes. As much as he was amused by their interaction, it felt odd to see John accept someone so quickly.

"Let's not forget Jade here. She has the psychic ability to influence a physical form without physical interaction, also known as telekinesis." John added.

Jade rolled her eyes as he explained it so theatrically, in her opinion. She can move stuff with her mind. It's not that complicated to comprehend. At least not anymore.

"Yeah, I gathered that." Chas mumbled.

He recalled their meeting from just a few minutes ago. She disarmed him with ease and usually that would scare him.

But he wasn't feeling mortal lately. Being around so much death does that to a person.

"It's cold!" Zed abruptly said.

Everyone turned their attention to her as she turned back around. The field was gone and the cold had faded. Zed still felt the need to rub her arms to allow warmth to return to them.

"All right. Well, I'll let you know if any of that pans out." John said before trying to leave but Zed grabbed his arm before he could.

"No, no, no. You're not ducking out on me again. You promised us you'd teach us about our abilities." She said.

John glanced at Jade who raised her eyebrows at him in expectation. An annoyed sigh left his lips upon realizing she was on Zed's side. What else did he expect?
