Jade sipped on her coffee before closing her eyes.

The park was oddly soothing. Being around normal people helped, too. The coffee in her hands, sound of birds chirping, smell of grass. She was at peace.

At least until John Constantine opened his mouth.

"As much as I like the view, sweetheart, class is in session."

Jade opened her eyes. She was at peace no longer. John made sure of that. A huff left her lips as she glanced at Zed.

"I can't exactly levitate anything in public. So other than being moral support, there's not much for me to do here." She said.

While he was distracted, she snatched the sunglasses off of his face and put them on hers. He scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest.

Zed paid no attention to the two of them bickering in the background. The energy in the park was beautiful. It soothed her unlike anything she felt before.

"You were right about the park. This closeness to nature, the energy, the people..." she trailed off.

Her mouth curved into a smile. She was practically beaming with joy. Everything around her just made her so happy.

"My senses, they feel heightened. It's like a-"

"-a drug."

Zed assumed he had plenty of experience with drugs if he'd instantly compare it to them. Unlike her who hasn't even tried pot. Let alone something stronger.

"I wouldn't know." she replied.

Jade stretched her arms above her head. "Hugs, not drugs, kids."

John used his chance to recover his sunglasses. A part of him thought she'd fight for them but she simply frowned at the act.

"Seriously? Neither of you have ever dabbled?"

And here he thought of them as rebels. Well, Zed, at least. Jade didn't seem like the type that needed any kind of drug to get by.

"Seriously. You try having visions like mine, and see if you're still interested in dabbling." she said.

Their powers required control. Drugs were all about being loose and forgetting what control even means.

John turned to Jade. "And you? What's your excuse?"

"If I lose control, my powers go haywire, remember?" she replied.

It seemed pretty self-explanatory to her. No control equals a lot of destruction. At least in her case.

"Sometimes control is about letting go. Psychic energy is all around us, it's like a network. Zed has the ability to travel through that network, collect data, while you are able to tap into it and use it to manipulate the physical world."

Jade glanced the Zed. Their powers were intertwined. Perhaps that is why they found each other. They were playing the same field, in different ways.

"However, you'll have to lower your walls first. Only then will you be able to see how far you can really go." John stated.

The brunette wanted to give a snarky reply. Yet she was distracted by golden coins falling down from the sky. She couldn't explain why it made her feel so light.

"I see coins. They're falling all around us. So beautiful." she commented.

As fast as they appeared, the coins disappeared. It left her confused as to where they went. Behind her, Jade noticed a flicker of something in the corner of her eye.
