Chapter Nineteen: Convoy Ambush

April 5th 2042

Marcus was in the conference room of the Freedom Nest with the rest of the High Council. Codes, the League's tech wiz, was also present. Along with Jane Cannon and Carl Lau. The conference room was enterable through a door in the wall of the Freedom Nest and was right underneath the Old North Church main hall. On the walls were maps of Massachusetts and the states that surrounded it. Marcus sat at the end of the conference table and said "Right then people, our informant inside of ArmTech has sent us some good news". Jane's eyes widened, the F.D.L had an informant inside of ArmTech? Jane asked with shock in her voice "We have an informant inside of the Corpos?" Marcus looked at Jane and said "Yes, only the Council and a few members of the League even know about it". Marcus then said "Agent Internal was one of the few friends I had at MegaCorp high, they're a pretty decent guy and I got back in touch with them six months ago". Eivor then said "Agent Internal now works as an intern inside ArmTech and feeds us information that they find out about". Carl was curious for as to how they got this information and asked "How does he send us the info?" Marcus satisfied Carl's curiosity with "Jim and Son's Delivery Company place the info at a drop of point in Providence every one to three weeks". Marcus then bought out a folded letter and took a piece of paper out of it. The paper was a map of Upstate New York and there was a red line leading from New York City to the Canadian border. Marcus then worriedly said "ArmTech is trying to get a ton of weapons across the Canadian border, the weapons are gonna be transferred to an airport in NewFoundLand and are gonna get on a plane to Moscow". The Council's faces froze. Eivor then asked with great concern "Moscow? The capital of the New Russian Empire!? The country that is in a CIVIL WAR!?" Marcus calmly said "Yes".

In the year 2025, Vladimir Putin declared himself Emperor of Russia and re-established the Russian Empire. It was a brutal dictatorship and the ELECTED Government officials had very little power. The region of Siberia was once part of this empire and is rich in natural resources. The New Russian Empire had used this fact to bolster Russian Economic success, but every day Siberians did not gain from this relationship, in fact, they were merely exploited and used by the Russians. A political movement was formed; the Siberian Regionalist Party. The S.R.P had demanded Siberian Independence from Russia and when their leader, Nyguri Makarova, was elected as Siberias regional Governor in 2038, they got just that. The Siberian War of Independence had been going on since then and the Independent Siberian Republic had driven the Russians all the way to the border and had been trying their best to keep the Russians out. Eivor asked "Why are ArmTech selling weapons to the russians?" Marcus answered with "Internal is not 100% sure, but according to their letter, they think it might be so that Putin will allow them to set up business in Russia. Or at least pay them a ton of money for it". Ryan scratched his head and said "No way they're selling just rifles, it's gotta be something so dadgum powerful, that Putin will pay them a whole bank for it". Marcus agreed and said "The Siberian Army has been very successful at keeping the New Imperial Russian Army(N.I.R.A) at bay and N.I.R.A have so far failed at breaking the front lines. But if N.I.R.A get these weapons". Samuel then said with extreme concern "Then the New Imperial Russian Army are gonna be in NovoSibirsk within a week". Marcus then bought out bank transactions that showed how Putin was paying ArmTech millions for these weapons and said "We don't know what these weapons are, but we must stop them from reaching Moscow, or Siberia falls". Marcus bought out some papers and said "These here are the blueprints for the convoy, the trucks are disguised as Mail trucks. There are twenty of them and we have the license plate numbers from the intel. They can be easily disabled with the EMP we stole from the last gun heist, so it'll be easy to disable them". Rachel then asked "But what if they have guns?" Ryan answered with "The guns are electric, so they will be disabled to". Marcus finally got up and said "All in favour?" Marcus and almost every other member of the Council voted yes, Rachel voted no. "Why not?" Sam asked Rachel. Rachel answered with "I'm just a bit worried, that's all". Rachel looked at Marcus and said "This goes against our agreement to not go on the offensive until we're of age, I hope you know what your doing Marcus". Marcus then got up and said "The convoy goes past Syracuse in three days, we strike then".
