June 25th 2061

It had been two days since the Battle of Providence and the Freedom Democracy League now controlled all of New England. They had de-facto full control of Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The Army of Freedom were now guarding the border with Upstate New York and were patrolling the streets of every major city in the League's new territories. Citizens in these areas had been told by the Government and the Corporations that the League soldiers were heartless locusts who were only out for themselves and would take away all of the 'freedoms' the Corporations had bought to America: Freedom to get paid much less than fifty years prior, freedom to sleep in a tent in an alleyway and the freedom to serve the Corporations. But they were shocked to see good men and women who were fighting to give them newfound freedoms and restore America to the way it was before the Corporations ruined it. They were shocked to learn that Chief High Councillor Marcus Libertad, leader of the Freedom Democracy League, had personally ordered for the creation of the League Relief Agency. Whose main purpose was to help people get out of poverty and into prosperity. The billion dollar corporations that had exploited the people for decades were being shut down and smaller businesses were being set up in their places. Big business Corpos were being arrested for "the crime of slavery" and being placed on trial for their crimes. What was very surprising to the people, was the fact that the Governors of each state were cooperating with the League and that the State Guard's were being incorporated into the Army of Freedom. Of course Massachusetts Governor Harry Honestus had announced a press conference in which he and Marcus Libertad would explain everything and it was about to begin. In the front row was Julia, Lucas and Carl. Behind them were over thirty thousand people and hundreds of reporters from all over the world. Around half of them were from the Global News Network of course. Julia looked at Lucas and asked "Any idea what he's gonna say?" Lucas answered with "No idea babe". Julia embarrassingly said "Shush. Now is not the time". Julia then quietly asked Lucas "Any idea what Marcus is gonna say?" Lucas scratched his head and said "Not sure, he's probably gonna make one of his speeches. I wonder if Maria will say anything?" That was when the Governors of the New England States appeared on the stage and were met with applause by the crowd. While the others sat down in the chairs, Honestus got to the microphone and began his speech.

With relief that New England was safe from the fighting, Honestus said to the people "Ten years ago, the Freedom Democracy League made themselves fully known to the world after they exposed a Corpo conspiracy to violate people's privacy at MegaCon 2051. After that, America was divided. Many citizens voiced support for the League and began waving the Freedom Banner of Democracy throughout this God blessed nation, but others rallied behind the Corpos and voiced distain against the League". Honestus then said with regret "I used to believe that the League were just common terrorists and that, like Al Qaeda, should be treated as such. But then, about six months ago, me and my fellow Governors behind me had a meeting with someone who showed us that the F.D.L weren't the terrorists I thought them to be". The people immediately knew that this could only mean one thing and they were proven right when Harry said "Now I'd like to introduce you to that person and his colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, Chief High Councillor Marcus Libertad". The people gasped as they saw Marcus Libertad himself walk onto the stage with nine other people. Most of Them were High Councillors, but one of them was Marcus's wife Maria, who was five months pregnant with Their first child. As they got on the stage, Marcus shook hands with Honestus and got to the microphone while the rest of the High Council sat down in their chairs. Marcus looked at the thousands of people and said with reassurance "We don't regret killing thousands of Corpo grunts, we regret that we had to. The Corpos had forced our hand, all we wanted was for America to have her freedom back, but the Corpos retaliated with exploitation and violation of God knows how many human rights. I promise that the Freedom Democracy League isn't here to dominate you, or trample on your rights as citizens. We are here to lift you up and offer you all better lives. Not just the promise to the people of America...but to the entire world". The F.D.L supporters, which made up about half of the crowd, got up and applauded Marcus. Meanwhile the neutrals reluctantly clapped, not sure on what to make about this. Marcus then explained "Now you have all wondered where the Freedom Democracy League is based and now it is time to reveal what our base of operations is". The crowd fell silent as Marcus said aloud "Our base of operations is the once proud city of Boston".
