It was a bright summers day in New Boston. People were waking up to a bright sun and skies with barely any clouds in them and heading downstairs for a nice breakfast. Usually, many would be heading off to work to earn their usual payments and earn a decent living. Children and teenagers alike would be headed off to school for a nice day of learning and spending time with their friends. But not on that day, for a very important meeting was about to take place between the High Council and six important individuals. At the Old North Church, around thirty thousand people had been gathered in front of a large stage that had twenty chairs on it and a microphone. The chairs were divided into two groups, there was one group of about eight and another of about twelve. It was easy to assume that the group of eight was for the High Council and the others were for those they were meeting with, but who were they? That was the question on everyone's mind. In the front row was Julia Libertad, the younger sister of the Freedom Democracy League's leader, Marcus Libertad. There was also Lieutenant Carl Lau, military logistics officer Jane Lau and their daughter Carli. Next to Julia was Matthew and his eight months pregnant wife Hanako. Lucas and Yumiko were also present at the conference and they were all eagerly waiting for it to begin. Julia looked at Carl to her right and asked "Who do you think the people the High Council are speaking with will be?" Carl thought for a moment, but then snapped his fingers and eagerly said "I bet it's gonna be Agent Internal". Jane, who was sitting in the seat next to their daughter in between the loving couple, agreed and said "Of course it will be, no way Agent Internal could be just one person". Matthew scratched his head and said "It's probably the leaders of the other resistance groups, it would explain why there are two sets of chairs". Hanako rubbed her pregnant belly and said in a hopeful manner "I just hope it will give our baby a good world to grow up in".
That was when they saw five cars pull up at the driveway and the doors were opened by well equipped soldiers. Out came the eight leaders of the Freedom Democracy League. Chief High Councillor Libertad came out of the front car with Deputy Chief High Councillor Eivor Conditor and began waving to the crowd as he walked to the stage. But along with Chief High Councillor Libertad was His beloved wife, Maria Libertad. With Her tanned Hispanic skin, brown hair and small baby bump, Maria was a sight to behold. Maria had come to New Boston not long after the League began recruitment and when Marcus met Her, it was love at first site. Marcus had first met Her at the refugee camp and They got along perfectly. They had many dates after that and got married at a beautiful ceremony in the Old North Church. It was clear that Marcus had chosen Her well. Out of the other cars came Ryan Armis, head of the League's military, Samuel Religio, head of the League's Resource Management and Settlement Development and Rachel Medicus, head of the League's health department. From the other cars came Cynthia Scientia, High Councillor of Education, Leonardo Trenin, High Councillor of Labour and finally, Justina Lexington, High Councillor of Justice. The crowd applauded the arrival of their elected leaders as they got up onto the stage. All of them, with the exception of Marcus, sat down in their chairs while Marcus got to the microphone. Marcus tapped on it to make sure it was working and said with pride and hope "Citizens of the Freedom Democracy League, for years now we have fought to liberate America from the sick and poisonous ideology of Corporate Fascism and we have done considerable amounts of damage to them. Nineteen years ago, we took down ArmTech, who sought to profit off of an illegal death gas by selling it to petty dictatorships and ten years ago, we exposed a group of corrupt executives within MegaCorp for the frauds they really were". The crowd applauded as Marcus said those last fifteen words, it had been such a delight to see those Corpos locked up in prison. But it had been a disgust to see them get released after just a few years locked up in the joint. That was when Marcus said "At the same time, we stole an advanced cloaking device, that has carefully hidden our fair city from the Corpos for the last ten years. Allowing us to recruit half a million people". Further applause was heard from the crowd, but it stopped as six black cars drive up and park on the road behind them. A lot of people looked at these cars with confusion, but looked back at High Councillor Libertad as he said "However, last year I realised that we cannot liberate America alone. We need help to bring freedom and democracy back to our country". Some people guessed that the leaders of other resistance groups, inspired by the League, were inside the cars. Like the American Avengers, led by Joe Amerigo and the Continental American Militia, led by Preston Garvington. But they were not expecting Marcus to say "Which is why over the last six months, Me and the rest of the High Council have met with six very important people to discuss joining together in the spirit of rebellion and these politicians have agreed to meet with us today". The people's faces froze in shock. Had Marcus really found some decent politicians and convinced them to help the League fight the Corpos? They were proven right when Marcus said to the shocked crowd "They have arrived here today, to come and join with the Freedom Democracy League to help bring about the New America to the world, so ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Governors of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut and New Hampshire".
