For those who aren't familiar with ALA, here's a short synopsis of the story:

Murat Sarsilmaz and Doruk Sarsilmaz are half brothers, Murat being the older one. Derya is Murat's stepmom and Doruk's mother. Azme is their Grandmother( father Nejat's mother) Sarsilmaz, a rich and influential family. Murat manages their fashion Brand Sarte, while Doruk is busy with girls and parties but he's a sweetheart with an innocent heart. Karem is Murat's best friend and his driver.

Hayat is a girl from a not-so-well-to-do family from Giresun. She lives in Istanbul with her two best friends Asli( a nurse) and Ipek (who work at an office). Ipek and Karem are a couple and Doruk and Asli feel for each other but that is unexplored territory as they do not admit that they are in love with each other. Their Landlady is Faride, Hayat's mom Emine's friend. Hayat's grandfather (Father's father) Hashmet dada is the head of the family and is of conservative nature. He gives Hayat the ultimatum that either she finds a job in Istanbul or he drags her to Giresun and fixes and arranged marriage for her.

Hayat desperate for a job visits Sarte for her last interview(She didn't land a job at any other interview) meets Suna Pektas (Murat's Family friend) When she storms off from the office, Hayat collect her cv from the elevator. Cagla (Murat's assistant) grabs a CV from Hayat's hand (which happened to be of Suna Pektas') and offers her job on the spot (it was reserved for Suna Pektas)

Desperate for the job, Hayat Reclutantly agrees and decides to come clean to Murat (the Boss) after her mother leaves for their village. However, destiny plays its magic and Hayat doesn't find any opportunity to tell Murat the truth. But when she does, it's late. She is in love with him. So she keeps up the facade of her false identity. Derya the evil stepmother uses this as an opportunity to create trouble and tells Murat the truth about Hayat. Murat shocked and angry and heartbroken, wants nothing to do with Hayat.

The story begins from this scene:

Hayat returns home with a dejected face. As soon as she comes home, she locks herself in the room. Ipek, Asli, and Hayat's mother Emine are worried for her.

Ipek: Don't worry aunty we'll talk to her.

Asli: Aunty you just handle Hashmet Dada(Hayat's Grandfather). I don't think taking her back to the village would be the right thing now.

Emine: I know dear Asli, but you do know that Hashmet Dada has the last word in our household.

Ipek and Asli enter Hayat's room

Hayat pov

Everything is over Ipek. Everything. All the love, all the memories are gone. Gone within a second. He said I am a stranger to him. He would not even listen to me. He did not even try to at least hear me out once about why I lied to him. (I managed to say while sobbing uncontrollably)

Asli was rubbing my back while Ipek was trying to sweet-talk me to stop me crying. I know these girls loved me. With my faults. They did warn me about the consequences when I lied about my identity but they knew my situation. And now that the truth is out, instead of judging and 'told you so' dialogues, they are just going to pacify me.

My mom knocked on the door

Hayat: Come in.

Mom: Hayat dear, pack your things. We have to leave for Giresun today after Dinner. I tried talking to Dada but he didn't listen. And you know dear he has the last word.
