Murat POV:
I woke up to the sound of Hayat singing. A smile crept on my face. I remembered the events of the last night. Our marriage and our conversation afterwards. It did not sadden me because now, everything was clear. I freshened up and joined her at the breakfast table. Our conversations were flowing easily since there wasn't anything hidden between us. After breakfast, we both got ready and left for the wedding venue.
Hayat POV:
As soon as we reached Ipek and Kerem's wedding venue, we parted ways. I left Murat with a kiss on his cheeks. This whole feeling of being married was new to me. The wedding was going to take place in the backyard followed by lunch in the front-yard. I found Ipek and Asli in Ipek's room. They were having breakfast. I joined in on the conversation. Soon after the hair stylist arrived. Ipek wanted to keep the look simple and opted for a soft messy bun that sits on her lower neck. I started working on her makeup while her hair were getting styled. After her hair and makeup were done, we helped her get into THE dress.
She looked no less than an angel. I quickly did Asli's and my makeup. We were just in time as Murat called me to ask us to get the bride ready for her entry.
The groom and the groomsmen were at their position. On the que of the pre-decided song, Asli and me walked in. The guest were seated quietly to prepare for the bride's entry. The arch of flowers behind the officiator, the co-ordinated outfits and the surrounding decorations! The whole set up looked dreamy. But the thing that caught my attention was Murat who stood beside Kerem. He looked a perfect combination of dreamy and hot. 'Gosh, Hayat stop checking out your husband! Didn't you get enough of him last night?' Asli whispered and I blushed. Apparently my reddened cheeks were quite a sight as I caught Murat looking at me, amused.
The song changed to "A thousand Years - by Christina Perri" . Everyone stood up and in walked Ipek. The whole set-up and her angelic look, brought happy tears to my eyes! My bestfriend deserved the world! And I was so happy that we managed to give her, her dream wedding after the whole fiasco!
The vows were over in a jiffy. The officiant announced them as 'Husband and Wife' and before he could say 'You may kiss the bride', Kerem was already kissing her. I chuckled and the audience erupted in a mild laughter. They proceeded to cut the cake and then had a small couple's photoshoot. Till then the guests made their way into the lunch area. Since the wedding was small, Kerem and Ipek skipped the reception part. They went in the house to change into a much comfortable dress. Ipek slipped into a white A line dress and Kerem changed into a white shirt and a pair of blue denims. Lunch was a gala affair. At least at our table. I could feel the daggers shot at me by my ex-family. And I'm pretty sure Asli could feel Doruk's intense gaze. But the happiness and positivity over powered the bad vibes. After lunch was over, we bid goodbye to the newly weds who proceeded to leave straight for their honeymoon.
Tuval was checking the guests out. Since almost everyone was left I decided to use this opportunity to dance with my husband. Yes there was no denial that I loved Murat but also that I wanted to get this marriage annulled and have a proper love story with him. I played "Give me your Forever by Zack Tabudlo" on the speakers in the backyard. Murat had understood exactly what I wanted to do. He shifted the benches and made space for us to dance. We were lost in each others eyes. The dance ended with a long passionate kiss. It felt good to finally kiss those lips of him after so long. We were only brought back to our senses when Cemil had started screaming. We then realized that the music was long over and somewhere in between, Asli and Serkan had also joined us in the dance.
"How could you? Do you not care about the Family's name at all?" He shouted and we realized that all my ex-family was present and watching the scene unfold. Murat tightened his grip on my waist, ready to protect me if needed but little did he know that this Hayat can stand for herself. After I stared at him blankly he continued, "You have no shame to kiss this stranger in front of everyone huh? When did you become this shameless?" Before I could respond, Murat snapped. "Excuse me? Who are you? Who are you to insult and humiliate my wife like that?" he hissed in a voice full of anger. "Wife? What wife? Did you marry him Hayat?" he asked me, shocked. "Yes" I answered with a straight face. "What nonsense. We don't consider this marriage, a marriage. When did he come to us to ask for your hand?" asked Mr. Hashmet. "Why would he need to ask for your permission?" asked Serkan. "Because she is my granddaughter. And since I've not given her hand away in this marriage, she is still deemed unmarried." he huffed. Well, well, well, with this answer, he has gotten on everyone's nerves. "For your kind information Mr. Hashmet, I did ask her family for her hand. I asked her father and then her brothers. So agree to it or not, she is my damn wife. And I do not like the way in which you are talking to her." hissed Murat. If his anger could set things on fire, the house would've been set ablaze by now. "Her father?" asked the old man in confusion. "My father. Ilhan Tapeli and my brother Cihangir Tapeli." I smirked. "Did you not know that I was a Tapeli? Fine I'll say it again. I am Hayat Murat Sarsilmaz now. I was Hayat Tapeli. Daughter of Ilhan and Gulay Tepeli. Sister of Cihangir Tapeli." I said stressing out each name.
The shock on their face was pretty satisfying. "How can you abandon us Hayat?" asked Cemil. "Oh really? I abandoned you? I? Or did you leave me with no choice but to run away from you people? You couldn't see my happiness then nor can you now. That is why, despite of you knowing how much I was in love with Murat, you decided to marry me off to someone for money. And now that I am happier in my life, you guys came again to try and ruin my happiness." I vented out. That shut their mouths. "We want your happiness only. Come back with us. We will wed you off to Murat with all the rituals in our presence." said the old man. "You know what? That's actually right." Turning to Murat I then continued, "Baby, they are right. I would love to get married to you again." Then looked at my ex-family and continued, "But I will get married in the presence of my family. And sorry to inform you, you people are no longer my family. I have a family that loves me, cares for me and accepts me as I am. And I will be getting married again in their presence. None of you will be invited. Today is a happy day. My best friend got married. Please do not ruin it anymore for us and leave." I hissed. I could see their pale faces as they accepted their defeat. And left. For ever.
Asli's POV:
Just when I thought the drama was over, Doruk came. "Asli please, give me a chance." Doruk cried. "Go away Doruk." I replied. "Please don't do this to me! You know how much I love you." he cried, pleaded. "Doruk I have moved on. Please let me live my life peacefully." I said. His tears bothered me the least now. "Asli, no please please..." He fell down on his knees. "I guess My wife made it clear to you." said Serkan, when he still didn't get up, he turned to Hayat and said, "We'll be leaving now Hayat." with that he grabbed my hand and walked towards his car. I didn't spare Doruk another glance. His chapter in my life was over. And I know it's not been long after my breakup with Doruk and marriage with Serkan, but I've started adoring Serkan. I guess life is giving me another chance at love.
Murat POV:
After Asli and Serkan left, I went to Doruk and helped him up. No I was not sympathizing with him. But I had some humanity left in me. "If only you weren't caught up in the lies of your mother, you wouldn't have been heart broken today. Alas, Karma does hit back. I wish you luck to deal with all that future throws at you." I said. He nodded. Shame was clearly evident in his eyes. I then held out my hand for my beautiful wife. She took it with a smile and we left the place.
